Add Cost Estimation to Autoflow
If you are the administrator, you can configure the autoflow master file to add cost estimation to the autoflow.
From File Maintenance, select
Master Files
>
System
>
Auto Flow Sequences
.
The
AutoFlow Sequences List
is displayed.
Open a Practice.
The autoflow sequence information displays.
Select the yellow
Open
folder button.
The
AutoFlow Screen/Item Selection
opens.
Select
Estimate Patient Cost
from the
Available
list.
Select the left arrow to move the selected item to the
Included
list.

OK

Run Autoflow from an Appointment
Before you begin Ensure that the Estimate Patient Cost item is included in the autoflow. You can run the autoflow for check-in or check-out from an appointment. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM and do one of the following: Select the ApptBook on the toolbar. Select Tasks > Appt Book. The appointment book opens. Right-click an appointment. Do one of the following: Select Checkin from the menu to start the check-in sequence. Select Checkout from the menu to start the check-out sequence. The first window configured in the autoflow sequence opens. Select AutoFlow to open the next window in the sequence. Continue with the autoflow sequence until the Estimate Patient Cost window opens. The Estimate Patient Cost window opens if it is configured in the sequence. The Estimate Patient Cost window displays the appointment details such as the encounter number and date, appointment date, provider, location, and service type. Perform the cost estimation. Run Autoflow from an Encounter
Before you begin Ensure that the Estimate Patient Cost item is included in the autoflow. You can run the autoflow for an encounter during check-in and/or check-out process for a person or patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM and do one of the following: Select Encounter on the toolbar. Select Tasks > Lookup > Encounters. The Encounter Lookup window opens. Use the search criteria and select Find. The encounters that match the search criteria display under Encounter List. From the Encounter List, right-click on an encounter and do one of the following: Select Checkin from the menu to start the check-in. Select Checkout from the menu to start the check-out. The first window configured in the autoflow opens. Select AutoFlow to open the next window in the sequence. Continue with the autoflow until the Estimate Patient Cost window opens. AutoFlow for Patient Cost Estimation
Cost estimation can be added to the series of actions in the AutoFlow for check-in and/or check-out processes. The sequential order of items in the AutoFlow is determined by the practice. When you run the AutoFlow from an encounter or an appointment, the Estimate Patient Cost window opens. Add Cost Estimation to Autoflow Your administrator can add patient cost estimation to the autoflow. Run Autoflow from an Encounter If you have configured an autoflow with cost estimation included, you can run the autoflow for a person or patient's check-in and/or check-out process from an encounter. Run Autoflow from an Appointment If you have configured an autoflow with cost estimation included, you can run the autoflow for checkin or checkout from an appointment. Setting Up AutoFlow
To set up the AutoFlow feature: Create AutoFlow Sequence master files in File Maintenance. Assign the AutoFlow sequences created in File Maintenance to specific practice locations on the AutoFlow Sequences tab in Practice Preferences. Note: You can set default user preferences for AutoFlow that override the practice-level settings in Practice Preferences. Create or Modify an AutoFlow Sequence
You must create an AutoFlow Sequences master file for each AutoFlow sequence that the practice uses. AutoFlow sequences enable you to set the sequence for a series of actions that process encounters for patient check-in and check-out. After you create the AutoFlow sequences, you must assign them to each practice location in Practice Preferences or User Preferences. Access File Maintenance. Select System Master Files, then PM, and then AutoFlow Sequences. The AutoFlow Sequences List window opens. Do one of the following: To add a new item, select the open menu button, and then select New. To modify an existing item, select the item in the list, select the Open Menu button, and then select Open. You can also double-click to open the item. The Autoflow Sequence Information window opens and displays the items that are included in the sequence. Set Up AutoFlow Practice Preferences
In File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Practices. Double click on a practice to open Modify Practice Information window. Select Preferences, and then select AutoFlow in Practice Preferences. To apply an autoflow Sequence for check-in or when a user creates an encounter, do one of the following in AutoFlow Sequences for menu option "Check-in/Create Encounter" section: For all locations, select a sequence in the <All Locations> row. For a specific location, select a sequence in the location's row. To apply an AutoFlow Sequence for check-out, repeat the previous step in AutoFlow Sequences for menu option "Checkout" section. If you want users to have the option to return to AutoFlow after completing all tasks, select Enable AutoFlow button after workable tasks have been completed.
