Estimation Results in Patient Charts

On the Clinical History/Notes tab in a patient's chart, you can select Topics > Estimation Results . Estimation Results displays the cost estimates done for the patient. When a chart is created for a person and the person becomes a patient in the practice, the patient's completed estimates as well as the newly submitted estimates are displayed in the estimation results. Note: The estimation results do not display the estimates for a person without a chart. The estimation results display the following cost estimation details. Estimate Date Cost Estimate ID Service Date Payer Name/Self Pay Service Type Service Item Estimate Charge Estimate Allowed Estimate Patient Amount Patient Agrees To Pay Patient Paid Amount Event Encounter Status Created By Create or Open Cost Estimations from Estimation Results You can create or open a cost estimate from the estimation results in chart of a patient. Estimating Patient Cost

In NextGen® Enterprise PM, the Estimate Patient Cost window enables you to specify the inputs required for calculating the patient and insurance responsibility amounts for services planned or rendered. You can initiate cost estimation from: The People Lookup window for a person. The Patient Lookup window for a patient. The Appointment Lookup window or the appointment book for an appointment or event. The Encounter Lookup window or the Encounters tab on the Patient Chart window for an encounter. The Estimation Results in the Clinical History/Notes tab on the Patient Chart window. When you initiate the cost estimation, the Estimate Patient Cost window opens: Every time you specify and submit data on the Estimate Patient Cost window, a new cost estimation record will be created with a unique cost estimation ID. AutoFlow for Patient Cost Estimation

Cost estimation can be added to the series of actions in the AutoFlow for check-in and/or check-out processes. The sequential order of items in the AutoFlow is determined by the practice. When you run the AutoFlow from an encounter or an appointment, the Estimate Patient Cost window opens. Add Cost Estimation to Autoflow Your administrator can add patient cost estimation to the autoflow. Run Autoflow from an Encounter If you have configured an autoflow with cost estimation included, you can run the autoflow for a person or patient's check-in and/or check-out process from an encounter. Run Autoflow from an Appointment If you have configured an autoflow with cost estimation included, you can run the autoflow for checkin or checkout from an appointment. Run AutoFlow from Appointment Lookup You can run the autoflow for checkin or checkout from the Appointment Lookup window.

Run Autoflow from an Encounter

Before you begin Ensure that the Estimate Patient Cost item is included in the autoflow. You can run the autoflow for an encounter during check-in and/or check-out process for a person or patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM and do one of the following: Select Encounter on the toolbar. Select Tasks > Lookup > Encounters. The Encounter Lookup window opens. Use the search criteria and select Find. The encounters that match the search criteria display under Encounter List. From the Encounter List, right-click on an encounter and do one of the following: Select Checkin from the menu to start the check-in. Select Checkout from the menu to start the check-out. The first window configured in the autoflow opens. Select AutoFlow to open the next window in the sequence. Continue with the autoflow until the Estimate Patient Cost window opens. Run Autoflow from an Appointment

Before you begin Ensure that the Estimate Patient Cost item is included in the autoflow. You can run the autoflow for check-in or check-out from an appointment. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM and do one of the following: Select the ApptBook on the toolbar. Select Tasks > Appt Book. The appointment book opens. Right-click an appointment. Do one of the following: Select Checkin from the menu to start the check-in sequence. Select Checkout from the menu to start the check-out sequence. The first window configured in the autoflow sequence opens. Select AutoFlow to open the next window in the sequence. Continue with the autoflow sequence until the Estimate Patient Cost window opens. The Estimate Patient Cost window opens if it is configured in the sequence. The Estimate Patient Cost window displays the appointment details such as the encounter number and date, appointment date, provider, location, and service type. Perform the cost estimation. Select AutoFlow to open the next window in the seq

Add Cost Estimation to Autoflow

If you are the administrator, you can configure the autoflow master file to add cost estimation to the autoflow. From File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Auto Flow Sequences. The AutoFlow Sequences List is displayed. Open a Practice. The autoflow sequence information displays. Select the yellow Open folder button. The AutoFlow Screen/Item Selection opens.
