Reinstate Encounters from the Account Profile

When reinstating bad debt encounters from a guarantor’s Account Profile, encounters for one or more patients can be selected at the same time. For example, encounters for multiple family members that are all linked to the same guarantor.

To reinstate encounters from the account profile, do the following:

  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM.
  2. Select Account.
    The Account Lookup window opens.
  3. Enter search criteria to search the desired account.
  4. Select Find.
    All existing accounts that match the search criteria display in the Account List section of the window.
  5. In the Account List, double-click to open the account.
    The Account Profile window opens.
  6. Select the Encounters Detail tab.
  7. Select a patient or an encounter to be reinstated from bad debt.
  8. Right-click the patient or encounter, and then select Reinstate.
    The Reinstate Multiple Encounters from Account window opens.

    If you select a patient before selecting Reinstate from the menu, all encounters in bad debt status for the account are displayed. You can select an encounter listed on the left to reinstate from bad debt.

    If you select an encounter before selecting Reinstate from the menu, all encounters in bad debt status for the account are displayed. The selected encounter is pre-selected to reinstate from bad debt. Additional encounters can be selected, if needed.

  9. Select all encounters to be reinstated.
    If the account includes bad debt encounters for multiple patients, the patient associated with each encounter displays in the Patient Name column.
  10. To save changes and close the window, select OK.
    A confirmation message appears to reinstate selected encounters.
  11. To continue, select Yes.
    The selected encounters are reinstated and the status changes from Bad Debt to Billed.
