You can process procedures from NextGen® Enterprise EHR that are in the pending charges holding tank in NextGen® Enterprise PM from the EHR Manual Charge Processing Pending report. You can process charges for one encounter at a time. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Reports menu, select General, and then select EHR Manual Charge Processing–Pending. The NextGen Report Filter window opens. Filter the report to include the desired charges. Filter 1: Enter a charge Create Date range or leave blank for charges created on any date. Locations: Select one or more charge Service Locations or leave blank for charges from any location. Select OK. The Report Preview window opens. Double-click the patient’s encounter. The Encounters tab on the Patient Chart opens. Right-click the selected encounter and select Charges from the menu. The Charge Posting window opens with a message. You can process procedures from NextGen® Enterprise EHR that are in the pending charges holding tank in NextGen® Enterprise PM from the Process Pending Charges window. You can process charges for multiple encounters at the same time. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the File menu, select Processes, and then Pending Charges. The Process Pending Charges window opens. Enter the appropriate Search Criteria section to locate the desired pending charges. Select Service Location, and then select one or more charge locations or leave it blank for charges from any location. Select Rendering Physician, and then select one or more charge rendering providers or leave it blank for charges from any provider. Select Service Dates From/To, and then enter a charge service date range or leave it blank for charges from any date. Select Financial Class, and then select one or more charge financial class or leave it blank for charges from all financial classes of the primary payer of the pending charge. When procedures from the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Procedures Module are passed to the charge "holding tank" in NextGen Enterprise, you can use the EHR Manual Charge Processing - Pending report to review charges in the holding tank that have not yet been processed in NextGen® Enterprise PM. The report displays encounter-level and charge-level information for each charge. The report has "drill-down" functionality. You can double-click an encounter to access the Patient Chart > Encounters tab directly from the report. From the encounter, you can then access the Charge Posting window and either process or reject the pending EHR charges on the encounter. To access the report in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Reports > General menu and select and then select EHR Manual Charge Processing - Pending. Note: The report is available only if the EHR manual charge processing option is enabled in both Enterprise Preferences > General and in Practice Preferences > Charge Entry. When the Suppress Billing option is not selected in the Service Item Library Maintenance window in File Maintenance or in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, unapplied encounter credits for charges entered for a patient in NextGen® Enterprise EHR generate automatically in NextGen® Enterprise PM. The information in the field associated with each charge is carried over from NextGen® Enterprise EHR to NextGen® Enterprise PM. When charges are sent from NextGen® Enterprise EHR, the charges enter NextGen® Enterprise PM in one of the following methods: Automatically applied. When the holding tank is Off and the charges coming from NextGen® Enterprise EHR have an unapplied encounter credit, a batch with an ID of AUCR is automatically created. Placed in the holding tank until the users manually accept each charge. When the holding tank is On, a batch is not automatically created. You must have an active batch in NextGen® Enterprise PM so that the charges can be applied when you accept the charges either mReceiving and Applying Charges from NextGen® Enterprise EHR
