Set Up a Default Sort Order for Printing

Access File Maintenance. Select System Master Files, then PM, and then either Forms or Label Templates. The Forms List or Label Templates List window appears. From the list, double-click to open the desired Form or Label Template. The Form Design or Label Design window appears. From the design toolbar, select the Template Sorting Preference button. The Template Sorting Preference window appears. All data fields included on the form or label are listed in the Available Data Fields section on the left. From the Available Data Fields list, select a data field to be used in the default sort order for printing. Select the Add button to move the data field to the Selected Data Fields section on the right. Repeat steps 6 and 7 to add up to four additional data fields to the default sort. Note: A maximum of 5 data fields can be selected for the default sort. Print Enhanced Forms

You can create enhanced forms in File Maintenance. These include forms for electronic signatures, patient correspondence for documentation purposes, and customized options such as alternate fee tickets and patient data sheets. Wherever forms can be printed in NextGen® Enterprise PM, you can choose to print Enhanced Forms. Note: You can print Fee Tickets or Patient Data Sheets that are setup as Enhanced Forms in File Maintenance. Printing enhanced forms replaces the legacy Print > Fee Tickets or Print > Patient Data Sheets menu options that are used to print the standard version of these forms. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select File > Print Forms > Forms or select the desired patient from Encounter Lookup window, and then right-click, and select Print > Forms. The Print Forms window appears. Forms Enhanced

Forms Enhanced allows you to create more advanced forms than those created in the legacy Forms master file. With Forms Enhanced, you can create forms for electronic signatures, patient correspondences for documentation purposes and more customized options for alternate fee tickets and patient data sheets. Forms Enhanced also allows you to create form groups, allowing you to print multiple pages of a form and multiple forms at once. To create an Enhanced Form, you must first create at least one Form Group. For more information on how to create a Form Group and Enhanced Forms, see Create New Enhanced Form. You can configure the list of Form Groups that appears when printing enhanced forms in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Form Groups are created in the Forms Enhanced master file in File Maintenance. Forms and Labels

Forms and Labels can be created in File Maintenance and then printed for an individual patient, or for multiple patients in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Any type of form that is used by a practice can be created in the Forms master file, or the Forms Enhanced master file. Some forms may be used to gather information from a patient, such as an intake form. Other forms may be used to provide information to a patient or to their insurance provider. Each form is created using a combination of free-text verbiage for static information on the form, and data fields that are automatically populated with patient-specific information when the form is printed. Labels that are used by a practice can be created in the Label Templates master file. Examples include mailing labels, chart labels and specimen labels.
