Open the Patient Information Bar in the Patient Chart

Before you begin You must set the Practice and user preferences, to enable the Patient Information Bar in the patient chart. For more information on the patient chart, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Accounts and Patient Records User Guide forNextGen®Enterprise PM. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the main toolbar, select Chart . The Patient Lookup window opens. Search for and select the patient using the available search criteria. The patient chart opens displaying the Patient Information Bar, where you can exclusively select Patient Chart Lookup and Open Menu to search for patients, set an active patient, and manage the NextGen® PxP Portal enrollment. Enroll a Patient in NextGen® PxP Portal

If the Patient Portal trigger action is Enrollment, you can set up a NextGen® PxP Portal account for the selected patient through NextGen® Enterprise EHR. For more information on the enrollment process, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest NextGen® PxP Portal Provider Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Ask your system administrator which NextGen® Enterprise EHR template and field to use. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, select the template that contains the Patient Portal trigger, and then select OK. For more information, see Select a Template.. Select the Patient Portal trigger on the applicable field. The following actions are triggered depending on the patient status: If the patient status is Not Enrolled and all mandatory patient information fields are filled, a NextGen® PxP Portal enrollment invitation email is sent to the patient. Enrollment Status Indicators of Patients

NextGen® PxP Portal has the following enrollment status indicators. Status Icon Tool Tip Description Not enrolled Not Enrolled The patient is not enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. Not enrolled Aged Out The patient has aged out and the enrollment of guardian has been revoked. Pending Pending The practice has initiated the patient's enrollment, but the patient has not completed the enrollment. Completed Completed; Last Login Date MM/DD/YYYY Note: The last logon information appears only when the icon is available for selecting. The patient has completed the enrollment. Deactivated Deactivated The practice has deactivated the NextGen® PxP Portal account of the patient. If the account is activated again, the enrollment status changes to Completed. Viewing Patient's NextGen® PxP Portal Enrollment Status

If the practice is part of NextGen® PxP Portal, you can view the patient's NextGen® PxP Portal enrollment status on the Patient Information Card (PIC). If the patient is not enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal, you can send an enrollment invitation email. Note: The patient enrollment status indicator is available only when the NextGen® PxP Portal license is active. Set up Patient Portal Trigger

The Patient Portal action launches windows at run time that enable you to: Set up an account for a patient on the NextGen® PxP Portal website. Schedule the future delivery of a message to a patient enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. After a message has been scheduled, you can review and edit or delete it, if necessary. NextGen® PxP Portal is a secure Internet portal that enables patients to communicate with providers, request appointments, request prescription refills, review test results, complete online forms, view documents and statements, and access health reference information.
