The Monthly reports provide summarized data to the lowest common denominator. Selecting fewer columns provides a shorter, more summarized report. These reports do not have “drill-down” functionality that enables you to double-click on a record to view or edit its details.
The monthly
Transaction Summary and
Transaction Summary with Transaction Code reports can be generated
By Encounter or
By Line Item. These options relate to how the Financial Class and Payer information logic works on the reports.
- By Encounter: Charges and transactions are attributed to the primary payer on the encounter. For example, if a patient has Medicare primary and Blue Cross secondary, then charges are reported as Medicare, and all transactions posted against those charges are also reported as Medicare.
- By Line Item: Charges are attributed to the primary payer on the encounter, and transactions are attributed to the actual payer. For example, if a patient has Medicare primary and Blue Cross secondary, then charges are reported as Medicare, all Medicare transactions are reported as Medicare, and all Blue Cross transactions are reported as Blue Cross.
Note: Unposted transactions have no Process Date or Post Date, so the only unposted and posted transactions date in common is the Transaction Date. Because of this restriction, posted and unposted transactions do not appear together on any report. Therefore, the Include All option is not available on the Filter1 options.
