Follow-up on a Task
Access the
Edit Task
window for the task you want to update.
From the
Task Info
tab, enter notes on task progress in the
Details
window each time you work on the task.
Select
Ctrl-Shift D
to add the current date/time and signature to your notes. This is a free-form text field.
Change the date in the
Follow Up Dt
field, if applicable.
Make other field changes as applicable.
To save changes and close the window, select
OK
.

Start to Work on a Task
Access the Edit Task window for the task you want to work on. Note: When you do a mass update, the Task Subgrouping1 and Task Subgrouping2 fields are not required. From the Task Info tab, select the down arrow in the Status field and select In Progress. Select the calendar button to select a start date or enter a date in the Start Date field in mm/dd/yyyy format to indicate the start date for the task. Select the calendar button to select a follow-up date or enter a date in the Follow Up Dt field in mm/dd/yyyy format to indicate the date you would like to review the progress on this task, if applicable. The follow-up date must be equal to or greater than the start date. Select the Instructions tab and begin following the instructions for the task. To save changes and close the window, select OK. Adding an Encounter Note
You can add an encounter note from a task for encounter, chart, and appointment source types. This option is available from the Notes tab on the Add/Edit Task window by right-clicking and selecting New > Encounter note. When you add encounter notes to encounter source types, the notes are added to the encounter. When adding encounter notes to a chart or appointment source type, the notes are added to the most recent encounter. Parent topic: Working Tasks Assigned to You

Working Tasks Assigned to You
After a task has been created, the person assigned to the task can begin to work on it. In general, the workflow for working on a task has three phases: Starting a task Following up on a task Completing a task As a user goes through these phases, he/she must use the Edit Task window to update various fields and change the status of the task, so that it can be accurately tracked and reported on. The following is a description of each phase: Starting a task – the user assigned to the task looks up task details and instructions to begin the work and provides a start date and change in status. A follow up date may be entered at this time as a reminder to review the task on the date specified. Following up on a task – as work continues on the task, the user enters progress notes each time he/she follows up on the task. Follow-up on a Task
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Tasks > Worklog Manager or from the main toolbar select the Worklognull button. The Enterprise Worklog Manager window opens. Enter the necessary search criteria, and then select Find to display the task list. If you want to open the tasks specifically assigned to you as a user, you can select the My Tasks button on the Enterprise Worklog Manager window, or you can access them through the Tasks section of the Advisor window. Select and double-click the desired task or right-click the task, and then select Open. The Edit Task window opens for the task you want to update. Modify Task Details
Select a task to be modified in the grid.The fields above the grid with the task details. Make relevant changes in the applicable fields. Select Update.The modified data updates in the grid. After you complete modifying tasks, select the Sign off checkbox.The Completed by field appears with the user name logged on to the system. Add Tasks from Report Window Details
The Add Tasks from Report window includes the following details: Field Description Task Type The Task Type is any task defined in the Task Types master files. To have the appropriate tasks to select from, be certain that they are set up and defined in the master file before trying to use them here. Status In the Status field you can select from the following options: None In Progress Completed Not Started Priority You can select from the following priorities: None High Normal Low Subject This is a free form text field. You can enter any text here. Assigned To This field has a list that allows you to select from any of the available resources to assign responsibility for this task. You can also press CTRL-M to assign yourself to the task. Details This is also a free-form text field that allows you to enter any details you feel necessary to aid in the completion of this task.
