When you have an interface that sends charges from an external third-party application to the charge "holding tank" in NextGen Enterprise, you can use the External Manual Charge Processing - History report to review charges that were previously in the holding tank but have since been processed or rejected in NextGen® Enterprise PM. The report displays encounter-level and charge-level information for each charge.
Note: To check the status of the failed update charge request after the process date has changed (24 hour rule), refer to the External Manual Charge Processing - History report. No message is displayed in the NextGen® Enterprise PM Charge Posting window, whether holding tank is on or off.
The report has "drill-down" functionality. You can double-click an encounter to access the tab directly from the report. From the encounter, you can then access the Charge Posting window and view the external charges previously processed on the encounter.
To access the report in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select and then select External Manual Charge Processing - History.
Note: The
Ext manual charge processing pending/history report helps you track the status of charges and any errors at the
DFT (Detailed Financial Transaction) level.
- If an error occurs at the DFT level, it applies to all line items (FT1s) within that DFT, even if only one line item has an issue.
- If a DFT is partially processed (some line items are successful, while others have errors), the report will still show the same status and error for every line item in that DFT.
- To check which line items were actually processed successfully, review the full DFT details.
Note: The report is available only if the External manual charge processing option is enabled in both Enterprise and in Practice Entry.
