Exporting Letters

You can export letters to create ASCII files that are sent to a third-party vendor for processing (printing and mailing). Both individual demand letters and batch letters can be exported. You must work closely with your letter processing vendor to ensure that you create export files in NextGen® Enterprise PM are format using the appropriate data Delimiter and Text Qualifier required by the vendor. These fields must be defined in Practice Preferences > Forms > Export Options. Note: If you are using NextGen® EDI letter services, the following Export Options settings are required in Practice Preferences > Forms: Delimiter = <comma> and Text Qualifier = “. Export Letters to an ASCII File

You can export an individual account or encounter collection letters on the Demand Letters window. You can export batch letters from the following windows: Appointment Reminders Batch Account Collection Letters Batch Encounter Collection Letters Budget Letters Recall Letters Open the collection letters that you want to export to an ASCII file. To create an export file, select Export. The Save As window opens. Browse to the appropriate directory folder to save the export file. Select File Name, and then enter a name for the export file. Select Save as Type, and then select text files (*.txt). To save changes and close the window, select Save. Note: When you create the export file, you must send it to the third-party vendor for processing. Instructions and training on how to send files are provided by the third-party vendor. Upload a Letter Export File to NextGen EDI
