Export Statements to an ASCII File

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select File > Print Forms > Statements. The Statement Options window opens. You can also export statements to an ASCII file on the following: You can export an individual account statement on the Guarantor Statement window. You can export an individual patient statement on the Patient Statement window. You can export batch budget statements on the Budget Statement Generation window. To create an export file, select Export. The Save As window opens. Browse to the appropriate directory folder to save the export file. Enter a name for the export file in the File name field. Select text files (*.txt) in the Save as type field. To save changes and close the window, select Save. Note: You must send the export file to the third-party vendor for processing. Exporting Statements

You can export statements to create ASCII files that are sent to a third-party vendor for processing (printing and mailing). Both individual demand statements and batch statements can be exported. You must work closely with your statement processing vendor to ensure export files are created in NextGen® Enterprise PM and formatted using the appropriate data Delimiter and Text Qualifier required by the vendor. These must be defined in Practice Preferences > Forms > Export Options. Note: If you are using NextGen® EDI statement services, ensure to set the export options in Practice Preferences > Forms: Delimiter = <comma> and Text Qualifier = “. To generate budget statements in NextGen® Enterprise PM, the Budget Communication method must be set to Budget Statements in Practice Preferences > Budget Accounts. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the File menu, select Print Forms, and then Budget Statements. The Budget Statement Generation window opens. The Budget Statement Options settings are the pre-defined settings in Practice Preferences > Budget Accounts. Review the default Budget Statement Options settings and make modifications, if needed. Do one of the following: To preview the budget statements prior to printing or exporting, select Preview. To print the budget statements, select Print. To create an ASCII export file and to send it to the third-party vendor for processing (printing and mailing), select Export. Select the Update Budget Dates check box. Print or Export a Patient Statement from the Charge or Payment Window

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. To open the Patient Statement window from the Charge Posting window, do the following: Select Charges. The Charge Posting window opens. Select the patient and encounter. Select Print Menu, and then select Statement. The Patient Statement window opens. To open the Patient Statement window from the Payment Entry window, do the following: Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Posting. The Batch Posting window opens. Select the batch, and then right-click and select Open. The Payment Entry window opens. Select Statement from the menu.
