Create Rentals for Patients
Open
NextGen® Enterprise PM

On the main toolbar, select
Chart
or
Chart Lookup
.

Patient Lookup
window opens.
In the
Search Criteria
section, enter the patient's information, and select
Find
.
Patient records that match the search criteria, appear in the
Matching Records
section.
Select the patient, and then select
Open
.

Patient Chart
window opens.

Patient Information

, and then select the open menu

New

Rental Information
window opens.
To select the SIM code for the rental, in
Rental Devices
, select open folder
and select the SIM code you want to apply to the rental.
The SIM code appears in the
Rental Devices
section.
Enter the serial number of the rental device in
Serial Number(s)

Select the
Rental Limit tracking
frequency from the following:
Enter the time frame, return date, and next billing date in the
Rental Limit Tracking
.
Select the rendering physician for the patient in the
Rendering

Enter additional information about the rental in

Viewing Patient Rental Information
You can create a rental arrangement for a patient using the Rental Information under Patient Information . You can use the open menu Open Menu icon to create, open, delete, copy or delete a rental. You can set up a new patient rental on the Rental Information window with information, such as the Service Item(SIM), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), SIM Desc (SIM Description) and Charges derived from the Charge Posting window. A rental can have a specific number of assocated billed, unbilled and in-progress encounters. You can view all the information on a rental and its associated encounters using the Rental Information Tracking report. Add Device Rental Information to a Patient Chart
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart, and then in Patient Lookup, enter your search criteria, and then select Find. Matching people and patient records appear in the search results. In Matching Records, select a patient record , and then select Open. The Patient Information tab opens in the Patient Chart window. Select the Rental Information tab, select the open menu icon, and then select New. In the Rental Information window, under Rental Devices, select the open folder icon, and then select the applicable SIM code. In Serial Number(s), enter the rental device serial number. Select from the Rental Limit tracking option, and then enter the other necessary information. Note: In Rental Information Tracking report, you can view all the rental information and its associated encounters. Optional: Select the necessary encounters to use rental information. Select a provider from the Rendering list, and then in Notes, enter additional information. Note: You can delete

Enter Recurring Rental Charges
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Charges. The Charge Posting window opens. Select the desired patient and the In Progress encounter. Select New. Select the Recurring Rental Billing icon on the Charge Posting toolbar. The Rental Information Listing window opens. To add a rental, select New. The Rental Information window opens. Note: For new rentals, select New. If it is a new encounter in an existing series, select the appropriate rental record from the list. In the Rental Devices section, select Open Record and then select the SIM code you want to apply to the rental. Select Serial Number(s), and then enter the serial number of the rental device. In the Rental Limit Tracking section, enter the time frame information, next billing date, and equipment return date. Select Rendering, and then select the rendering physician from the list. Create Patient Charts
The patient or person lookup search results includes both patients and persons. To set up a person as a patient, you must create a chart for the person using the Create Encounter window. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM, and then select Chart or Chart Lookup The Patient Lookup window opens. Select New. The Add Patient Information window opens. Modify Patient Information- Encounte Enter the details in the required fields that appear in red color and any additional information you want to include for the person. Select Chart.A message appears for your confirmation to create the account. A message appears for your confirmation to create the account. Select OK. The Create Encounter window opens. Enroll a Patient in Enterprise Chart
From the main toolbar in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Lookup. In the Patient Lookup window, do one of the following:. For a new patient, select New. For an existing patient, search for and select the patient record, select the open menu icon, and then select Open. In the Add Patient Information or Modify Patient Information window, enter or update the information as needed. Select the Enterprise Chart checkbox. Select OK. The patient is enrolled in Enterprise Chart. Note: For a patient newly enrolled in Enterprise Chart, you may need to reopen the patient's chart to view information from other practices.
