Create a Group Encounter for Kept Members
- Open NextGen® Enterprise PM.
- From the main toolbar, select ApptBook.
- In the Daily, Weekly, Weekly Schedule, or Multi-View, right-click an individual appointment scheduled as part of a group appointment.
- Select Open > Group Appointment.
The Edit Group Appointment window opens.
- In the Associated Member Appointments section on the right, verify appropriate individual appointments are marked as Kept.
- Select open menu
, and then select Create Group Enc for Kept Members.
Note: This option is not available if a group encounter already exists for a group appointmentThe Add Group Encounter window opens.The details of a group appointment are filled in the Patient Group, Billable Date, Billable Time, and Service Location fields and cannot be modified.Note: In the Practice Preference window, on Encounters practice preference, the Default previous payer(s) to encounters created in PM option is selected by default. If you clear this option, new encounters you create from NextGen® Enterprise PM do not have insurance added from the previous encounter, and when you save the new encounter, it defaults to self-pay.The Default previous payer(s) to encounters created in PM option is only for encounters created in NextGen® Enterprise PM.
- Select Patient Type and Rendering Physician.
Note: Patient Type and Rendering Physician fields are required if the options are turned on in the Encounters tab in Practice Preferences.
- Select OK.
A prompt appears informing you that a group encounter will be created for all members marked as kept.
- Select Yes.
An individual encounter is created for each scheduled member marked as kept, the encounter is linked to the member's kept appointment, and the encounter numbers appear in the Associated Member Appointments section of the Edit Group Appointment window.
- Select OK.
