tab, select an encounter.

window opens.
Select open menu

.

window opens.
Select a Case to associate the selected Encounter with or select
New
to create a new case to be associated with the selected Encounter.

You can associate a case with an existing Encounter in NextGen® Enterprise PM Access a Patient's Chart. Select Encounters. Select open menu . The Encounter Maintenance window opens. Select open menu , and then select Open Existing Cases. The Select Case window opens. Select a case to associate the selected encounter with or select New to create a new case to be associated with the selected encounter. The Case Information window opens. Displaying the Encounter History for Cases in NextGen® Enterprise EHR
Once you enable the Case View, the Encounter History tab displays all of the available cases related to the selected patient. All of the Encounters containing all of the pertinent information attached to a particular Case are displayed under the Case. If there are any Encounters in the patient's history that are not attached to a Case, such Encounters are displayed separately at the bottom of the Encounter History tab. All of the usual Encounter-related functionality available in the Encounter History tab is retained. If a Case is selected, however, only the Template icon is enabled, allowing you to select and work with Case Templates. Parent topic: Managing Patient Cases

Associate a Program to an encounter
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. From a patient chart, select New > Encounter in File menu.The Select a Program window opens displaying programs that the patient is enrolled in. Select a program and then select OK. The encounter has been associated to the program. The program appears in the Encounter Maintenance > Program list. The Encounter Status in NextGen Enterprise PM > Patient Chart > Encounters > Encounter Information for the patient appears as In Progress. Prerequisites to Associate a Program to an Encounter
You can associate a program to an encounter in NextGen® Enterprise EHR when creating an encounter. After you associate a program to an encounter, the status in NextGen Enterprise PM > Patient’s Chart > Encounters > Encounter Information appears as In Progress, which allows NextGen Enterprise PM users to calculate revenues. To view the list of programs to associate when creating an encounter, you must first create the list of programs and ensure the following in File Maintenance: Create at least one program in File Maintenance > System > Programs master file. Select Enable Programs from File Maintenance > Master Files > System > Practices > Preferences > Programs. Select Default all new encounters to are in progress from File Maintenance > Master Files > System > Practices > Preferences > Encounters and select at least one program from the Limit to Valid Programs list. Enable the Case View in NextGen® Enterprise EHR
To view cases associated with your patients, you must enable Case View in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. When Case View is enabled, you can view cases for all patients. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. To view the cases associated with the selected patient, select the settings icon, and select the View Case Management check box on the user-level display setting window. Note: When you select a patient who does not have any cases associated with their history, you receive a message that there are no cases to load. The Encounter History tab displays the Case Management information. On the Encounter History tab, select an encounter that has case, and select the context menu icon and then select Properties. Note: Some Cases can be marked as Private. If you have selected a case that is marked private, then you must have proper user rights and permissions to access that case information.
