Associate a Case with an Encounter in NextGen® Enterprise EHR

You can associate a case with an existing Encounter in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. On the Encounter History tab, select an encounter. Select Encounter Options, and then select Properties. The Encounter Maintenance window opens. Select open menu , and then select Open Existing Cases. The Select Case window opens. Select a Case to associate the selected Encounter with or select New to create a new case to be associated with the selected Encounter. The Case Information window opens. Select Yes. Select OK. The Case Management functionality enables users of the NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Enterprise PM applications to group patient encounters based on common data into cases. Cases may include encounter details such as, workers' compensation, occupational health (non-injury), ambulatory care, group health PT. This enables users to submit only the medical-record data of each patient that is required to meet insurance and legal obligations. Associate a Program to an encounter

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. From a patient chart, select New > Encounter in File menu.The Select a Program window opens displaying programs that the patient is enrolled in. Select a program and then select OK. The encounter has been associated to the program. The program appears in the Encounter Maintenance > Program list. The Encounter Status in NextGen Enterprise PM > Patient Chart > Encounters > Encounter Information for the patient appears as In Progress.
