Appointment Book
The Appointment Book window in NextGen® Enterprise PM provides an overview of the appointment schedule for the various resources and locations within the practice. The appointment book is used to schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments. You can view appointments for: An individual resource for a specific day, week, or month. Multiple resources at the same time for a specific day. To access Appointment Book in NextGen® Enterprise PM, do one of the following: From the main toolbar, select the ApptBook button. Appointment Scheduling Preferences
Appointment Scheduling Preferences control how specific functions and tasks work in the Appointment Book in NextGen® Enterprise PM. While some settings are strictly for customizing the display, others affect the application behavior. You must complete these settings before opening the Appointment Book for the first time. In File Maintenance, scheduling preferences can be defined in the Default User Prefs - Scheduling master file, and then assigned to groups of users or individual users in System Administrator. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest File Maintenance Master Files Guide forNextGen®Enterprise. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, you can modify your own scheduling preferences in Admin > Preferences > User > Scheduling. Your settings override any default settings that were assigned to you in System Administrator. Subgroup Used in Description Appointment Book NextGen® Enterprise PM Enables users to access the Appointment Book, but not to schedule appointments. Appointment Book Multi-view NextGen® Enterprise PM Enables users to access the Multi-view tab within the Appointment Book. To access the Appointment Book, users must have access to this also. Appointment Search NextGen® Enterprise PM Enables users to access the Appt List toolbar button to search for scheduled appointments and to print batch fee tickets. Appointment Search Engine Updates NextGen® Enterprise PM Enables users to access the Scheduling Update program immediately after making modifications within Scheduling Administration. Note: You must also select the Prompt to defer scheduling admin changes until automated nightly processoption in Appointment Scheduling Practice Preferences. Update a Followup with Appointment Date and Time
After an appointment is scheduled in NextGen® Enterprise PM for a follow-up that originated in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, the Appt Date and Appt Time on the follow-up can be updated in both applications. Access the Appointment Book in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Open the appointment that was scheduled for the follow-up. The Edit Appointment window opens. Select the Recall/Waitlist tab. In the Follow Ups section, select the follow-up that corresponds to the appointment. Right-click on the follow-up and select Update KBM with PM Appt Date. The followup is updated with the appointment date and time in NextGen® Enterprise PM and NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Note: The appointment must be saved in NextGen® Enterprise PM before the Update KBM with PM Appt Date option is available for selection. A confirmation prompt does not display after selecting the Update KBM with PM Appt Date option. The follow-up is updated immediately in NextGen® Enterprise PM and NextGen® Enterprise EHR. View Appointments for Multiple Resources
You can view appointments for multiple resources at once. Access the Appointments tab. Select the Resources list arrow available at the upper right corner. Select the check box for each resource to view the appointment schedule. The Appointments button displays the count of the appointments, and the appointments list displays the appointments for the selected resources. These settings visibles next time you access NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Parent topic: Appointments
