Address Change Report

The Address Change report is generated when the Change of Address Update process is run in NextGen® Enterprise PM to import an address update file obtained from a print services vendor. For example, if you use NextGen® EDI services to print and mail statements or letters from export files created in NextGen® Enterprise PM, they can provide "Fast Forward" address update files to you from their website. After downloading a file from the vendor, the Change of Address Update process is used to import the file into NextGen® Enterprise PM. Upon completion of the import, an Address Change report is generated. The report provides details based on information provided in the imported file, such as patient name, old address, and new address. Import a Fast Forward Address Update File

Access NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the File menu, select Processes, and then Change of Address Update. The Electronic Address Change window opens. In the Address Input File field, click the Open Record button. The Open window opens. Browse to locate and select the Fast Forward address update file previously downloaded from the NextGen EDI website, and then click Open. The selected file displays in the Address Input File field. Do one of the following: To import the file and automatically update the address in demographic records for accounts and patients included in the file, select the Update Address Records check box. To import the file without updating the address in demographic records for accounts and patients included in the file, do not select the Update Address Records check box. Note: The default setting for this check box is determined by the Update Address Records setting in Practice Preferences > NextGenEDI Uploading. To start the import, click OK. NextGen EDI Uploading Practice Preferences

If you are enrolled in and utilizing the statements or letter services offered by NextGen Electronic Data Interchange NextGen EDI , you can automatically upload statement and letter export files to the NextGen EDI website in real-time when the files are generated in NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can also use the NextGen Background Business Processor (BBP) to automatically download files from NextGen EDI. To automatically upload and download files, your NextGen EDI login credentials must be entered on the NextGen EDI Uploading tab. To access this window, select Admin > Preferences > NextGen EDI Services. Login Information Field Description Account ID Enter the Account ID obtained from NextGen EDI. Username Enter the Username obtained from NextGen EDI. Practice ID Enter the Practice ID obtained from NextGen EDI. Password Enter the Password obtained from NextGen EDI. Practice Preferences for NextGen® EDI

To use NextGen® EDI, you must have a NextGen® EDI license and logon credentials for NextGen® EDI. If you are enrolled in NextGen® EDI, you can automatically upload statement and letter export files to the NextGen® EDI website in real time when the files are generated in NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can also use NextGen® Background Business Processor to automatically download files from NextGen® EDI. Field Description NextGen EDI Uploading Tab Login Information Enter the logon credentials for NextGen® EDI to automatically upload and download files from NextGen® EDI to NextGen® Enterprise PM. Update Address Records Select this option to allows users to update the address in demographic records for accounts and patients included in the Fast Forward address update files obtained from NextGen® EDI. Real-time Address Validation

You can turn on real-time address validation in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Enterprise PM, and File Maintenance for practices and users. For real-time address validation to occur, you must setup both the practice and the user. The automatic address validation process occurs when a registered user enters or modifies an address and then saves the data. The address fields are automatically sent to the United States Postal Service (USPS) address validation API. When an address is incorrect or cannot be found, the USPS address validation API sends a message to the user and the user can update the address or keep the address entered. When a match is found, the user receives a message stating that the address is valid. The automatic address validation process can reduce the following tasks in your practice: Time and cost of returned mail Administrative tasks to resend correspondence Research and verification of the person, patient or entity's current address Before you begin this proces

Change of Address Update Job

You can create the job to download and export the address change by configuring the fields as described in the following table. Field Description Source Directory Indicates the directory from where you want the job to select the address update File. Update Address Records Indicates whether you want the job to update the address records based on the address update file. Address Change Report: Printer Name Indicates the printer through which you want the report to get printed. Address Change Report: Export Format Indicates the format in which you want the report to get generated and exported.
