Adding Information to Person or Patient Profiles

You can enter the following data on the Demographics tab of the Add Person Information or Add Patient Information window, General Information that includes name, sexual profile, social security number, and birth date. Significant events are generated when a patient changes their gender identity, sexual orientation, or preferred pronoun. Contact Information that includes phone numbers, email address, and preferred contact methods. Demographic Information that includes marital status, student status, preferred language, religious information, and dental and primary provider. You can also enroll the patient in the Enterprise Chart feature. Insurance Information that includes insurers, authorizations, referrals, and eligibility inquiries. The optional and mandatory fields that appear on the Add Person Information or Add Patient Information window can be configured by the system administrator in the enterprise and practice preferences in File Maintenance. Add Insurance to a Person or Patient Profile

You can add insurance for a patient or person in the Add/Modify Person Information window or the Add/Modify Patient Information window. Adding Person or Patient Details

To add a patient, you must first enter data for all mandatory fields of the complete the required fields on each tab of the Add Patient Information or Add Person Information window, and then for other fields required by your practice. A system administrator can configure the mandatory fields in Enterprise Preferences and Practice Preferences in File Maintenance. Add General Information for Persons or Patients

You must add the person or patient's general identification information, such as the first and last name, social security number, birth date, sexual profile, and preferred pronoun. General information for a patient or person appears as a header on every tab of the patient or person information windows. Open NextGen® Enterprise. Open the People Lookup window, and then select New. The Add Person Information window opens. Select a Prefix preferred by the person or patient. Mr, Mrs, or Reverend. Enter the Last name and First name for the person or patient. Both are required fields. Select the Previous Last link and then enter the previous last name of the person or patient. Select the Previous First link and then enter the previous first name of the person or patient. Enter the person or patient's Middle name. Add a Person on the Add Person Information Window

You can add a person on the Add Person Information window in NextGen® Enterprise PM or NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Add Patient Information window, a person becomes a patient after you add a Chart. To open the Person Information window from NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Lookup. The People Lookup window opens. To open the Person Information window from NextGen® Enterprise EHR, select File, then New, and then Person. The People Lookup window opens.
