View Recall Plans

Recall Plan Significant Events

Significant Events for recall plans are enabled or disabled from the Admin > Preferences > Significant Events menu in NextGen® Enterprise PM. When enabled, a message is recorded in the Patient Chart > Clinical History/Notes tab > History topic when the event occurs. Significant Events for Recall Plans include the following: Recall Notification Sent To Home Address Recall Notification Sent To Patient Portal And Home Address Recall Notification Voice Reminder Sent Recall Plan Added Recall Plan Stopped Recall Plan Updated Recall Print Date Reset The Recall Notification Sent To significant events create a record in the patient’s chart when a recall letter is printed/exported. The Recall Plan significant events create a record in the patient’s chart when a recall plan is added, updated, or stopped. Patient Recall Report

The Patient Recall report displays patients that have one or more recall plans in NextGen® Enterprise PM. The report includes detailed plan information including letter dates, appointment dates and basic demographics information. This report can be used to monitor the effectiveness of recall plans in ensuring patients schedule their return visits. It can also aid in determining if there are recall plans that need to be stopped manually, in cases where no auto discontinue options were selected in the setup of the plan in File Maintenance. Data on the report can be filtered using options available on the Report Filter window: Filter 1 options include the 1st/2nd/3rd Letter Sent dates, Expected Return dates, including Active and/or Inactive Plans, and including or excluding Expired Patients. This filter also includes the first, second, and third dates when the messages were sent to the patient using NextGen® EDI services. Recalls for Expired Patients

On the Modify Patient Information window, when the Expired check box is selected, a prompt displays after entering an Expiration Date for patients that have one or more future appointments and/or active recall plans. The purpose of the prompt is to alert the user that future appointments for the patient should be cancelled and active recall plans should be stopped. Active Recall Plan Alerts

A system alert displays to users when a patient with one or more active Recall Plans is accessed in NextGen® Enterprise PM. The alert displays the number of active recall plans, the recall plan name, and the expected return date. If there is more than one active recall plan for the patient, they are numbered within the alert by order of next due date. Note: Alerts display only if the Active Recall Plans Due in nnn Days check box is enabled in Practice Preferences > Alerts. Recall Plans

In cases where a patient requires a future follow-up appointment and that appointment cannot be scheduled now, a Recall Plan can be entered for the patient instead. For example, a patient that was seen by a provider today to have a specific test performed may need to return next year to have the test performed again. Recalls are used in NextGen® Enterprise PM as a mechanism of sending one or more letters to the patient reminding them that they are due to return to the practice for a particular type of appointment. Recall Plans are set up in File Maintenance > PM Practice Master Files. The set up for each recall plan defines the number of days within which patients are expected to return. The return event, resource and location can be defined for each recall plan, as well as the number and frequency of reminder letters to be sent to patients.
