Accounts Receivable Reports

The Accounts Receivable reports category includes various reports that you can use to review financial information for patients and guarantor accounts in your practice. The reports can help you monitor and manage outstanding A/R and assist with your internal billing and collections processes in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Aging Analysis by Encounter Report

The Aging Analysis by Encounter report is an encounter-based report that shows the total outstanding balance for each encounter by aging category. You can filter the report by Process Date on Filter 1 so that you can retrieve data from any point in time. However, the history of changes to the encounter status over time is not stored. Therefore, if using the Process Date filter, select all encounter statuses for an accurate report. If you run the report for balancing totals to other reports, then you must select all Enc Status check boxes on Filter 1 (Bad Debt, Billed, History, Rebill and Unbilled). If you run the report for tracking the total outstanding A/R, then you should select the Billed, Rebill, and Unbilled Enc Status check boxes on Filter 1. The Collections reports category includes various reports that you can use to review financial information for patients and guarantor accounts in your practice. Aging Analysis by Line Item Report

The Aging Analysis by Line Item report is a line item-based report that shows the total outstanding balance for each charge by aging category. You can filter the report by Process Date on Filter 1 so that you can retrieve data from any point in time. However, the history of changes to the charge status over time is not stored. Multiple Encounter Rates Per Day Report

The Multiple Encounter Rates Per Day report enables you to track and report on patients that have multiple same day/same payer encounters where Encounter Rate Billing may have applied an encounter rate SIM code and dollar amount to more than one encounter for the day. Note: This report is available only if Encounter rate billing is enabled in Enterprise Preferences > General tab. Data on the report can be filtered using options available on the Report Filter window: Filter 1 options include Encounter Date range, Payer Type, and the ability to include or exclude Encounter Rate Billing Statuses for primary and/or secondary encounter rate payers. The Encounter Rate Billing Status is updated for encounters on Encounter Maintenance > Billing & Collections tab during the billing process. Statuses include the following: Undecided Multi Yes Multi No ER Applied Exempt Non ER Payer Filter 2 options include Between, Equals, Not Equals, Greater Than, Less Than and/or Like filters that can be used

Unapplied Amounts by Account, Invoice, and Encounter Report

The Unapplied Amounts by Account, Invoice, and Encounter report lists any unapplied patient payments that exist at the account, invoice, or encounter level. The report is sorted by practice, then by location, and then by encounter/account/invoice number. The Filter 1 tab enables you to specify a date range that includes records based on the following dates: Posting Date Process Date Transaction Date Note: The total unapplied shows as a negative amount, since it decreases the encounter, account, or invoice balance. NextGen Healthcare recommends decreasing the unapplied amounts as much as possible before you run monthly reports. This keeps the information for aging categories, providers and financial classes accurate for reporting. To access the report in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Reports menu and select Accounts Receivable and then select Unapplied Amounts by Account, Invoice, and Encounter.
