Access an Archived Claim

Select the Claims icon . The Claim Request Lookup window opens. Enter your search criteria on this window. In the Request Status field select Archived. In the Media Type field: To search for printed claims select 1500. To search for electronic claims select EDI. In the Claim Form field, select the desired claim type. To narrow the results of your search, enter any other data specific to the type of archived claim that you are searching for. Select Find. Parent topic: Archived Claims

Remove Claims from an Encounter to be Deleted

Claims created for an encounter must be deleted before the encounter can be deleted. Access the Patient Chart. Select the Encounters tab, and then the General sub-tab. From the Encounters list, select the encounter to be deleted. Right-click and select Claims from the menu. The Encounter Claim Requests window opens. Select a claim to be deleted. Right-click and select Delete from the menu. A prompt appears asking if you want to delete this claim and all associated claim requests. To delete the claim, select Yes. The claim is deleted from the encounter. Repeat steps 5-7 to delete additional claims. To close the Encounter Claim Requests window, select Close. Parent topic: Delete Encounters

View an Archived Encounter Collection Letter

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Chart. The Patient Lookup window opens. Enter search criteria to search the desired patient. Select Find. All existing persons and patients that match the search criteria appear in the Matching Records section. In the Matching Records list, double-click to open the patient. The Patient Chart window opens. Select the Clinical History/Notes tab. Select the Demand Encounter folder. Display the Date/Time, Creator, Letter Name, and Description fields for each archived encounter collection letter. Select the desired letter, and then double-click to open the letter. The Letter Preview window opens. Note: You cannot print archived letters. Therefore, the Print Dialog and Quick Print fields are not available on the Letter Preview toolbar. Open Claim Status Report from Encounter Lookup

Before you begin Submit a claim request for the encounter. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, do one of the following to open the Encounter Lookup window: On the main toolbar, select Encounter. From the Tasks menu, select Lookup > Encounters. The Encounter Lookup window opens. Enter the search criteria to find the desired encounter and select Find. The Encounter List section displays the encounters matching the search criteria. Right-click the desired encounter and select Claims. Note: Alternatively, you can open the Encounter Claims Request window using one of the following methods. From the Patient Chart, on the Encounters tab, in the Encounters list, right-select the desired encounter and select Claims. Select Claims on the taskbar. From the Tasks menu, select Lookup > Claims The Encounter Claims Request window opens displaying the claim requests for the selected encounter. Open Claim Status Report from Clinical History/Notes

Before you begin Submit a claim status request for the encounter. In theClinical History/Notes tab, Chart Notes > Claim Status Result under Topics list displays the list of claim requests submitted for the encounter. You can open and view the claim status report. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, open the Patient Chart and select the Clinical History/Notes tab. From Topics, select Claims Status Result located under Chart Notes. The Details pane displays the claim status results attached to the patient. Right-click the desired encounter or claim number and select Open. The Claim Status report opens displaying the following: Claim status response date and time. Statistical view of the claim status (accepted or rejected), bill amount, and paid amount. Collapsed view of the claim status requested for the encounter. Note: To view the detailed report of the claim status, select and expand the claim. Parent topic: Claim Status
