Set Up Wait List Tasks

To set up a Wait List task, perform the following steps: In the Source Type field, select Appointment Waitlist. In the Task Type field, enter a name for the task type. Select the Auto Creation tab. A list of task action descriptions for the source type display in the Action column. The items in the list represent events that occur in the application that can be selected to automatically generate tasks. Select the drop-down arrow in the Default Assigned To for all selected actions and select who you would like to assign this task to. Setting Up Tasks for Auto Worker

You can set up tasks to be automatically processed each night without any human interaction. These tasks are worked automatically by the application based on the Auto Worker action chosen and completed. The completed task is then reflected in the Worklog and the Edit Task dialog box in NextGen® Enterprise PM. The list of available Auto Worker actions changes depending on the selection in the Source Type field and which Auto Creation actions are selected. Notes: Because the auto worker processes tasks unattended, you cannot activate an Auto Completion action and an Auto Worker action in the same task. When you open an automatically-worked task in NextGen® Enterprise PM, Auto Worker is selected by default in the Completed By field; and the Completed By and the Completion date fields cannot be changed. Auto Worker also displays as the Completed By user ID in task detail reports. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, you cannot select Auto Worker for a task that has not been automatically worked. Set

Appointment Request Task

A clinician’s appointment instructions from NextGen® Enterprise EHR can be sent as an appointment request to the administrative employees during the NextGen® Enterprise PM checkout process. When an NextGen® Enterprise EHR template passes the appointment request data to NextGen® Enterprise PM, the process creates an Appointment Request task. For this process to work, you must set up the Appointment Request task type. NextGen® Enterprise PM users can access the task in Worklog or during AutoFlow in the Work Tasks dialog box and view the appointment request details. They can copy the appointment request data and paste it as a new appointment into the appointment book or they can book the appointment through appointment search ahead. Set Up Tasks for Auto Completion

You can set up tasks to be automatically completed based on selecting an action from the list. Tasks can be set up for auto completion regardless of whether they are manually or automatically created. Auto-completion occurs when the system recognizes that the desired results related to the completion of the task have been met. Upon auto-completion, the tasks are marked with the completion date and either the default or override completion reason. To set up a task to be automatically completed, perform the following steps: Open or set up new ttask types. Select the Auto Completion tab. Enter a description of the task in the Task Type field. Set Up a Workable Task

Open a task type with a source type of Encounter, Chart, or Appointment. The Task Types window displays. On the Options tab, select the Workable Task check box. When selected, this check box: Enables you to configure the task into the AutoFlow. Enables users to access this task type from the Work Task right-click option on the Work Tasks window. Select OK. To include the workable tasks in the AutoFlow, open the AutoFlow Sequences master file, and then select the Workable Tasks option to include in the Autoflow Sequence. The option makes the Work Tasks dialog box display to users during AutoFlow. Select OK. To allow users to return to AutoFlow after they complete all tasks, open the AutoFlow practice preferences, and then select the Enable AutoFlow button after workable tasks have been completed check box. After users complete the tasks from the Work Tasks window, the AutoFlow button becomes enabled so they can return to the AutoFlow. Select OK. Parent topic: Workable Task

Task Types

Task types enable you to organize and manage tasks that are performed at your practice. They identify tasks according to the type of activity performed within a specific part of the application. You specify the part of the application (the Source Type) where the activity is performed. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, task types are used in the Worklog. To set up task types, perform the following steps: From the Master Files - System list, select System or PM > Task Types. The Task Types window displays. Select the Open Menu button on the Task Types list and select New. Enter a description of the task in the Task Type field. This is a required field. In the Source Type field, select the area of the application that the task applies to. This is a required field.
