SIM Exception Setup Field Descriptions

You can use the following table when setting up SIM Exceptions.

FieldDescription
SIM Exception NameEnter a name for the SIM Exception that describes the group of exceptions. If there are fewer than 50 SIM items defined in the SIM Library, all active SIM items automatically load into the grayed-out section of the spreadsheet area from the SIM Library. If there are more than 50 SIM items defined in the SIM Library, the SIM codes do not automatically load into the spreadsheet. Instead, you must manually enter the SIM code or the first few digits of the code in the Filter Criteria box, which loads the spreadsheet with SIM items that match your entry.
Hide ExceptionSelect this check box if you want to hide the SIM Exception in the SIM Exceptions List.
Type the first number(s) of the SIM item you want to locateUse this field if you have more than 50 SIM items. Otherwise skip to the next field. Enter the first few numbers of the SIM code until the SIM item displays in the spreadsheet area of the window.
Include Past SIM ItemsSelect this check box to display all expired SIM items.
Exception SIMs onlySelect this check box to only display SIM Exceptions.
SIM Exceptions AmountEnter the dollar amount for the SIM Exception.
SIM Exceptions POSSelect the drop-down arrow then select the Place of Service for the SIM Exception.
Modifier 1Enter the first modifier code for the SIM Exception, if applicable.
Modifier 2Enter the second modifier code for the SIM Exception, if applicable.
Revenue CodeEnter the Revenue code (001-999 in form locator 42) that identifies a specific accommodation, ancillary service, or billing calculation on the UB form.
