NextGen EDI Uploading Practice Preferences

If you are enrolled in and utilizing the statements or letter services offered by NextGen Electronic Data Interchange NextGen EDI , you can automatically upload statement and letter export files to the NextGen EDI website in real-time when the files are generated in NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can also use the NextGen Background Business Processor (BBP) to automatically download files from NextGen EDI. To automatically upload and download files, your NextGen EDI login credentials must be entered on the NextGen EDI Uploading tab. To access this window, select Admin > Preferences > NextGen EDI Services. Login Information Field Description Account ID Enter the Account ID obtained from NextGen EDI. Username Enter the Username obtained from NextGen EDI. Practice ID Enter the Practice ID obtained from NextGen EDI. Password Enter the Password obtained from NextGen EDI. Test Login Select this button to validate and test the Login Information entered above. Other Option Field Description Update

Upload a Statement Export File to NextGen EDI

For detailed information on generating statements, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the Billing and Collections Guide for NextGen® Enterprise PM . Do one of the following: To export an individual account statement, access the Account Profile and then select the Stmts button on the main toolbar. The Guarantor Statement window opens. To export an individual patient statement, access the Patient Chart and then select the Stmts button on the main toolbar. The Patient Statement window opens. To export batch statements, select the File menu and select Print Forms, and then Statements. The Statement Options window opens. Review the default Statement Options and make modifications, if needed. Select the Update Last Statement Dates check box. Select the Upload Export File to NextGen EDI check box. To create the export file to be sent to NextGen EDI, select Export. The Save As window opens. Browse to select the desired directory folder and enter a name for the export f

Set Up Security Access Rights for Charge Discounts

You must have security access rights to enable the Apply Charge Discount option in System Administrator and to access the Discounts window from the Charge Posting window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. To set up security access rights for charge discounts, do the following: Open System Administrator. Select Practice. Select the desired user group name under the practice. Select the Rights tab. Select Operations, and then select Charge Entry. Select Apply Charge Discount, and then set the appropriate Access Rights for the group. If you select Yes, the Discounts icon is available on the Charge Posting toolbar. If you select No, then the Discounts icon is not available on the Charge Posting toolbar. To save changes, select Save, and then Update. NextGen® EDI File Download Job

You can create the job to download and export the report by configuring the fields as described in the following table: Field Description Destination Directory Indicates the directory on the computer where you want to store the downloaded files. Archive Files? Indicates if you want the downloaded files to be archived. Job runtime alert settings (minutes) Indicates the number of minutes you want the application to wait before sending out a job runtime alert email. Job runtime alert email Indicates the email address of the person or persons to whom the application sends the job runtime alert. The NextGen EDI File Download process downloads the following reports: C - Confirmation reports D - EOD posting files Q - Bad address reports F - Fast forward reports A - APC file reports E - Eligibility files S - Statement files The messaging reports (V-Files) are removed in the process to reduce the malfunction in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Set Up Access Rights for NextGen® Enterprise PM Users

You can set up a user's security permissions in System Administrator for real-time address validation in NextGen® Enterprise EHR or NextGen® Enterprise PM. Open System Administrator, and then select the user group to configure. Select the Rights tab, and then expand OPERATIONS. Expand Chart/Demographics/Employer, and then select USPS Address Validation.
