Practice Preferences for NextGen® EDI

To use NextGen® EDI, you must have a NextGen® EDI license and logon credentials for NextGen® EDI. If you are enrolled in NextGen® EDI, you can automatically upload statement and letter export files to the NextGen® EDI website in real time when the files are generated in NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can also use NextGen® Background Business Processor to automatically download files from NextGen® EDI. Field Description NextGen EDI Uploading Tab Login Information Enter the logon credentials for NextGen® EDI to automatically upload and download files from NextGen® EDI to NextGen® Enterprise PM. Update Address Records Select this option to allows users to update the address in demographic records for accounts and patients included in the Fast Forward address update files obtained from NextGen® EDI. You can import the files into NextGen® Enterprise PM from File > Processes > Change of Address Update. Note: This setting determines the default for the Update Address Records option in the Electr

Set up Security Access Rights for NextGen® Enterprise

To download and upload files to NextGen Electronic Data Interchange (NextGen EDI), users must have the appropriate security access rights. Access System Administrator. The System Administrator window opens. On the left, select to expand the appropriate Enterprise and Practice. Select the desired user Group within the practice. Select the Rights tab. Select to expand Operations, and then NextGenEDI. Select the appropriate Access Rights (Yes or No) for each of the following: Download Available Files: Enables users to download files from the NextGen EDI website. Upload Letter Export File: Enables users to upload letter export files from NextGen® Enterprise PM to the NextGen EDI website. Upload Statement Export File: Enables users to upload statement export files from NextGen® Enterprise PM to the NextGen EDI website. To save changes, select Save, and then Update. NextGen EDI Uploading Practice Preferences

If you are enrolled in and utilizing the statements or letter services offered by NextGen Electronic Data Interchange NextGen EDI , you can automatically upload statement and letter export files to the NextGen EDI website in real-time when the files are generated in NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can also use the NextGen Background Business Processor (BBP) to automatically download files from NextGen EDI. To automatically upload and download files, your NextGen EDI login credentials must be entered on the NextGen EDI Uploading tab. To access this window, select Admin > Preferences > NextGen EDI Services. Login Information Field Description Account ID Enter the Account ID obtained from NextGen EDI. Username Enter the Username obtained from NextGen EDI. Practice ID Enter the Practice ID obtained from NextGen EDI. Password Enter the Password obtained from NextGen EDI. For detailed information on generating statements, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the Billing and Collections Guide for NextGen® Enterprise PM . Do one of the following: To export an individual account statement, access the Account Profile and then select the Stmts button on the main toolbar. The Guarantor Statement window opens. To export an individual patient statement, access the Patient Chart and then select the Stmts button on the main toolbar. The Patient Statement window opens. To export batch statements, select the File menu and select Print Forms, and then Statements. The Statement Options window opens. Review the default Statement Options and make modifications, if needed. Select the Update Last Statement Dates check box. Select the Upload Export File to NextGen EDI check box.
