Sequence NextGen® Enterprise EHR and HL7 Charges Coming to NextGen Enterprise PM

  1. Open Practice Preferences, and then select Charge Entry in the Preferences list.
  2. Under Charge Holding Tank Processing Order, do one of the following:
    • To modify an existing row, select the row and then select the Menu . Select Open.
    • To add a new row, select the Menu and then select New.
    The CPT4 Code Ranges window opens. If you are modifying a row, the existing ranges are listed.

  3. Do one of the following:
    • To modify an existing range, select the range and then select the Menu and select Open.
    • To add a new range, select the Menu and select New.
    • The CPT4 Code Range window opens with the CPT4 codes in the range.
    • The CPT4 Code Range window opens with no CPT4 codes.

  4. Select the next to the CPT4 field.
    The CPT4 Code Search window opens.

  5. Find the code you want.
  6. In the Search Method section, select one of the following search methods: Code or Description.
  7. Select the Search for keyphrase anywhere in the item check box if you want to see codes that contain a specific word or phrase anywhere in the description.
  8. In the Type the first letter(s) of the item you want to locate field, enter what you want to search for. The matching results list as you type.
  9. Select OK.
    The code displays in the CPT4 field of the CPT4 Code Range window.
  10. Select the next to the Thru CPT4 field and repeat the steps to find the code for the end of the range.
    The code displays in the Thru CPT4 field.
  11. Select OK.
    The CPT4 Code Ranges window displays the new range.
  12. Select OK to return to the Charge Entry Practice Preferences.
    The new range displays in the Charge Holding Tank Processing Order section.
  13. To change the order of the ranges, use the arrows.
    In NextGen® Enterprise PM, the incoming charges will be processed in the order in which they are found in the listed ranges.
