Programs Master File

The Programs master file enables you to create various programs that your practice participates in, and to define system-level and practice-level requirements for each program. System-level information applies to all practices participating in the program and may include SIM code, diagnosis code, provider credential and patient age limitations that must be met for services to qualify under the program. Practice-level information applies to a specific practice only and may include warning messages to alert users when an encounter or charge does not meet all program requirements, and payer-specific threshold rules that must be met before billing for services under the program. Providers Master File

In the Providers master file, you can set up providers who offer a service or refer a patient for a service. You can set the access right for the Provider master file to read-only for user groups. The setting prevents the user group from modifying the master file. For more information on setting up rights and permissions, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest System Administrator Guide for NextGen® Enterprise and see Rights and Permissions section. On the Providers List window, you can see the Rendering, Providers and National Provider ID columns. Rendering providers are indicated by a checkmark in the Rendering column. You can set providers as rendering on the Add/Modify Provider Information window of the Practice tab. The National Provider ID column displays the NPI number linked to the provider. Programs in NextGen® Enterprise PM

Practices may provide services to their patients or clients under various programs. Each program includes care and assistance to patients with a specific illness, condition or need, and depending on the program, enrolled patients can receive the following services; recovery and rehabilitation, symptom management, therapy, counseling, medication management, coping and daily living skills, transportation. Some programs may have service requirements. For example, a program may require that only specific services are provided, that services are provided only to patients with a specific diagnosis, that services are rendered only by providers with a specific credential, or that services are provided only to patients within a specific age group. In addition, some programs may have billing requirements. Copy a Program

You can copy a program to create another program with the same setup, and then modify the new program as needed. When you copy a program, the following information is copied to the new program: All program requirement settings from the System tab. Alerts/warnings settings from the Practice tab. All settings from the Clinical tab. The following information is not copied to the new program: Threshold rules settings from the Practice tab. Master Files - Practice

Unlike the Enterprise master files, which are shared across the enterprise, the Practice master files are practice-specific. Each practice must set up its own Practice master files. You access the Practice Master Files from File Maintenance > Master Files > Practice, and then select a master file type.
