Labels Tab - SIM Library

You can change the labels of the eight RVU fields for a specific Service Items library. These RVU labels display in the SIM RVU update. Open a Service Items library. On the Service Item Library Maintenance window, select the Labels tab. The Labels tab displays RVU fields. Enter new names in the fields for RVU 1, RVU 2, and so on as needed, and then select OK. The labels display in the current Service Items library. They also display as column headings in various reports. If there is no name in a field, the label displays with the default name, for example, RVU 1. Parent topic: Service Items Library

Add SIM Items to a SIM Library

After you have created a SIM library, you need to add service items and pricing information to the library. Select File Maintenance > Libraries > Service Items. From the Service Items List window, select the library to update. The Service Item Library Maintenance window opens. Select the open menu and select New. The three service item fields turn red. In the CPT4 Code field, enter a CPT4® code from your list of service items and then select Enter. The details for that CPT4® Code appears. In the General tab, do the following: In Eff Date, enter the effective date. In Exp. Date, enter the expiration date. In Non-Facility Price, enter the non-facility price in dollars. In Facility Price, enter the facility price in dollars. If you have more items to add, select Enter and repeat steps 4 to 6 for all service items you wish to add. Service Items Library

The Service Items library is the center of the billing functions. Within the Service Items library you can set up CPT4 codes for each practice, along with prices, and claim form designations. You can also group Service Items together under one main number or name. Libraries are available enterprise-wide, but each practice must designate which Service Items library to use by selecting it in the Libraries Practice Preferences. You can generate the Service Item Library Listing report from the Service Items library. Service Item Library Maintenance Field Descriptions

The following table describe the fields for setting up a Service Item Library. Field Description Search You can search for any specific SIM. If there are less than 50 SIM items defined in the SIM Library, all active SIM items automatically appear in the Search list. If there are more than 50 SIM items defined in the SIM Library, the SIM codes do not appear automatically. You must manually enter the SIM code or the first few digits of the code in the Search field. To find a specific SIM, enter the SIM code. To list all existing SIMs, enter an asterisk. SIM Library Name SIM Library name is a required field. Service Item For a new SIM, you can enter meaningful service item numbers and descriptions to correlate to the appropriate CPT4 code. This field is required. When you search for a SIM, this field displays the SIM that you search for. You can also select the open menu button, select New, and then enter a new service item Number. Hide SIM You can select this check box to hide the SIM. I

Service Item/CPT4 Global Update Report

You can generate the Service Item/CPT4 Global Update report before you perform the SIM global update. The report lists the SIMs, CPT4s, and their old and new prices. You can access this report only from within the SIM Global Update. In File Maintenance, select Libraries > Service Items. Right-click the applicable library, and then select SIM Global Update. The SIM Global Update window opens. Enter the SIM global update criteria, and then select OK. On the SIM Global Update List window, select Report, and then select Yes. SIM Library Configurations

SIM library configurations link SIM Pricing Templates to SIM Libraries. You can use the configurations to update SIM Libraries. The configuration settings contain the rules for transferring the pricing information to the SIM libraries. They tell the system: which Service Item Libraries to affect and by what percentage. which fields to update. For example, a parent SIM Pricing Template library is set up specifically for Unassigned Benefit Prices. The settings would be configured to only update the price for the Unassigned Benefit Price in the child SIM library. how to perform the updates: Update the existing row in the SIM. Add a new row in the SIM and expire the old row. Apply other configurable settings that are based on utilities in NextGen® Enterprise PM.
