Merge Specific Duplicate Person/Patient Records in File Maintenance

You can perform a lookup to find the specific records. The lookup ignores the search scenario criteria. A merge based on a lookup merges persons and patients regardless of whether they have a chart. To merge a specific person/patient record, do one of the following: In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select File > Processes > Patient Merge In File Maintenance, select File > Patient Merge. A reminder that the Person Merge process is database intensive appears. To continue, select Yes. The Person Merge window opens. Select Exact People. The People Lookup - Merge Person 1 window opens. Enter the search criteria for the first person or patient to use in the merge, and then select Find. When the results display, select a record, and then select Open. Security rights enable you to limit personnel access to the merge process at four levels: Association Level.Enables users to merge duplicate person and patient records within practices that are in the same association. Enterprise Level. Enables users to merge duplicate person and patient records within the enterprise. Practice Level. Enables users to merge duplicate person and patient records within the practice he or she is logged on to. System Level. Enables users to merge duplicate person and patient records from within all practices within the system. Significant Events for Person Merge in File Maintenance

When a patient record is merged, a significant event is created at the practice level. You can view the event on theClinical History/Notestab of the retained patient's chart. If a merged patient does not have a chart or any encounters, a significant event is not created. You can memorize (save) the significant events report. Person Merge - Merging Duplicate Patient Records in File Maintenance

You can merge duplicate person and patient records. The merge process is based on one of several search scenarios that identify potential duplicate persons. After the application identifies the potential duplicates, you can view the person and patient information details and which practice the records reside in. When duplicate patients are merged, the application pulls all patient information such as general, status, provider, employer, pharmacy, insurance, immunizations,contact, chart information, allergy criticality, allergy severity and history from the merged record and adds into the retained record. patient notifications for the retained person remain during the merge process. Also, when merging duplicate patient records, the application accommodates pharmacy names up to 70 characters. For example, if the retained person has patient notifications for a practice, only those patient notifications are displayed after the merge. For more information on patient notifications preference
