Suppress Billing for Individual SIMs

From the File Maintenance desktop, select Libraries > Service Items. The Service Items Libraries window opens. Double-click a service item library. The Service Item Library Maintenance window opens. On the General tab, select the Suppress Billing check box. Parent topic: General Tab

Suppress Billing for All SIMs In a Library

From the File Maintenance desktop, select Libraries > Service Items. The Service Items Libraries window opens. Right-click a service item library, and then select Select Suppress Billing for this Library. The Suppress Billing check box on the Service Item Library Maintenance window > General tab automatically becomes selected for all SIMs in the library. You can also turn off suppress billing for all SIMs in a library: Right-click the library, and then select the Deselect Suppress Billing for this Library. Tax Exemption Setup for Locations

In File Maintenance, select Libraries > Tax Exemptions. The Tax Exemption List window opens. Select open menu button , and then select New. The Tax Exemption Library window opens. Select the Location tab, and then define which sales tax charges are exempt for the listed SIM codes. In the Tax Exempt SIMs section, select open menu button , and then select New to search for a SIM. The Tax Exempt SIMs Setup window opens. In the Service Item # field, select a SIM code that you want to specify sales tax exemptions for. The associated CPT4 code and description automatically display in the CPT4 Code and Description fields. Enter dates in the Effective Date and Expiration Date fields. Select one or more locations where the SIM has sales tax exemptions. Select in the field below each Tax Exempt field to select which sales taxes the SIM is exempt from. Exempt SIM Codes from Encounter Rate Billing

If there is a service item that is exempt from encounter rate billing, you must flag it as Encounter Rate Exempt in the Service Items library. This flag makes the SIM code exempt from encounter rate billing for all payers. Note: To flag a SIM code as exempt for a specific encounter rate payer, you must select the Exclude from Encounter Rate Insertion check box on the Claim SIM Options tab of the Encounter Rate Billing library. Access File Maintenance. Select Libraries, and then Service Items. The Service Items List window opens. From the list, select a library and then select Open Menu and select Open. The Service Item Library Maintenance window opens. In the Search field, enter the SIM code and then select the code from the list. On the General tab, select the Enc rate exempt check box. Add SIM Items to a SIM Library

After you have created a SIM library, you need to add service items and pricing information to the library. Select File Maintenance > Libraries > Service Items. From the Service Items List window, select the library to update.The Service Item Library Maintenance window opens. Select the open menu and select New.The three service item fields turn red. In the CPT4 Code field, enter a CPT4® code from your list of service items and then select Enter. The details for that CPT4® Code appears. In the General tab, do the following: In Eff Date, enter the effective date. In Exp. Date, enter the expiration date. In Non-Facility Price, enter the non-facility price in dollars. In Facility Price, enter the facility price in dollars. If you have more items to add, select Enter and repeat steps 4 to 6 for all service items you wish to add.
