Online Practice Settings

Providers Master File

In the Providers master file, you can set up providers who offer a service or refer a patient for a service. You can set the access right for the Provider master file to read-only for user groups. The setting prevents the user group from modifying the master file. For more information on setting up rights and permissions, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest System Administrator Guide for NextGen® Enterprise and see Rights and Permissions section. On the Providers List window, you can see the Rendering, Providers and National Provider ID columns. Rendering providers are indicated by a checkmark in the Rendering column. You can set providers as rendering on the Add/Modify Provider Information window of the Practice tab. The National Provider ID column displays the NPI number linked to the provider. Create Your First Enterprise

Your installation includes a default enterprise that you use to log in to File Maintenance for the first time. After you log in with the default, you can create your first enterprise. After you create this new enterprise and set up your rights, you are no longer required to log in under the default to create additional enterprises. CAUTION: Contact NextGen Healthcare Support before you attempt to create additional enterprises. Log on to File Maintenance. Note: Until you create additional enterprises, you can only select Default Practice and Default Enterprise in the login window. The NextGen File Maintenance window opens. Under Master Files, select System > Enterprises. The Enterprises List window opens. Create the enterprise that you want to add a new practice to. Enterprise Licensing

When your organization purchased its NextGen® Enterprise applications, it acquired one or more enterprise licenses for the Electronic Medical Records ( NextGen® Enterprise EHR) and NextGen® Enterprise PM applications. When setting up an enterprise, you must assign the application licenses to the enterprises that will use them. For example, an organization has two enterprises, NextGen East and NextGen West, and has purchased two enterprise licenses for NextGen® Enterprise PM and one for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. NextGen East will use both the NextGen® Enterprise PM and NextGen® Enterprise EHR while NextGen West will use only NextGen® Enterprise PM, so the administrator would assign the licenses accordingly. Exceeding Enterprise Licensing Limits You can only assign the number of product licenses that you have acquired from NextGen Healthcare. Create or Modify Enterprises

Whether creating a new enterprise or modifying an existing one, you need to fill in some basic information such as: Name – What you want to call the enterprise (up to 40 characters in length). Enterprise Licensing – Information confirming your organization's NextGen licensing (Electronic Medical Records and NextGen® Enterprise PM). Log on to File Maintenance. Note: If you are creating your first enterprise, you can only select Default Practice and Default Enterprise on the login window. The File Maintenance window opens. Under Master Files, select System. The Master Files – System list opens. Select Enterprises. The Enterprises List window opens and lists the existing enterprises. Do one of the following: To add a new item, select open menu , and then select New. To modify an existing item, select the item in the list, select open menu , and then select Open. Set up Document Management Enterprise Preferences

In File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Enterprises. The Enterprises List window opens. Double-click the appropriate enterprise. Select Preferences and then select Document Management tab. Enter information in the desired fields.
