Enterprise Licensing

When your organization purchased its NextGen® Enterprise applications, it acquired one or more enterprise licenses for the Electronic Medical Records ( NextGen® Enterprise EHR) and NextGen® Enterprise PM applications. When setting up an enterprise, you must assign the application licenses to the enterprises that will use them.

For example, an organization has two enterprises, NextGen East and NextGen West, and has purchased two enterprise licenses for NextGen® Enterprise PM and one for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. NextGen East will use both the NextGen® Enterprise PM and NextGen® Enterprise EHR while NextGen West will use only NextGen® Enterprise PM, so the administrator would assign the licenses accordingly.

Exceeding Enterprise Licensing Limits

You can only assign the number of product licenses that you have acquired from NextGen Healthcare. If you attempt to assign more licenses than you have available, a message informs you that you have exceeded your limit. You must first clear the licensing options from the enterprise in order to make those licenses available for another enterprise.

To make an assigned license available to another enterprise you would need to clear the licensing options from the Products list to remove the licensing and then open another enterprise and assign the license to it.
