The Brand master file enables you to create a list of eyewear brands for your practice.
CAUTION:
You must set up the Vendors master file before creating a brand in the Brand master file.
Open File Maintenance and select Master Files > Optical Management and select Brand.
The Brand List window opens.
To include the hidden items in the master file list, select the Include Hidden Items check box.
From the brand list, do one of the following:
To add a new brand, select the open menu button and select New.
To modify an existing brand, double-click the item to open it.
The Brand window opens.
On the Brand tab, enter the brand name and select a vendor from the list.
Note: To hide the brand in the brands list, select the Hide check box.
On the External tab, do one of the following:
To add a new item, select the open menu button and select New.
To modify an existing item, double-click the item to open it.
Note: The External tab is enabled only if the Vendor master file is mapped for contact lens.
If a brand is mapped to an external vendor and you want to modify the vendor, you must delete the previous mapping before you map the brand to another vendor.
The Add External Interface window opens.
From the External System list, select VSP or VisionWeb as an external provider.
From the External Description list, select the brand manufacturer (downloaded from the catalog) to be mapped to the brand that can be used for placing NextGen® Optical Management VSP contact lens orders.
Select Next to add another item or select OK to return to the Brand window.
Note: For a given brand and vendor, the external interface mapping is unique that is for a selected brand and vendor if VSP is already selected as the external provider for one item, another item cannot be selected.
