Patient Pay Practice Preferences

The Patient Pay Practice Preferences provides options related to patient payments that are processed electronically in NextGen® Enterprise PM, similar to an ERA 835 file. The electronic file comes from a bank instead of a payer. A practice would set this up with their financial institution. Patients that owe balances would send their payments to the bank instead of sending it to the practice. The bank would then deposit the money into the practice's account and send the practice a file that can be imported into NextGen® Enterprise PM, just as an ERA file is imported. A transaction batch is automatically created when the file is imported, and a report is generated similar to the ERA Import Posting report. Tran Codes Practice Preferences

The Tran Codes practice preferences enable you to select Default Transaction Codes that are used when entering patient payments and adjustments from the Payment Entry window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. In addition, you can select System Generated Transaction Codes that are used when working with unapplied credits, pre-listing encounters for bad debt, voiding charges, and correcting encounter offsetting balances in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Provider Practice Preferences

The Provider Practice Preferences enable you to set up user-defined patient provider fields that define, at the practice level, the different types of providers that a patient has seen or is scheduled to see. It also enables you to track multiple user-defined patient providers at a demographic level. External Practice Preferences

You can use the External preferences in the Practice Preferences window to do the following: Set up external system connectivity Process no show appointments for third-party Display the patient's status in the immunization registry Enable real-time address validation in NextGen® Enterprise PM and Master Files in File Maintenance. Access the United States Postal Service (USPS) website and register for a USPS user name or user ID and password.
