Set up AutoFlow Preferences

TheAutoFlowuser preferences enable you to select AutoFlow Sequencesthat affect the check-in and check-out processes inNextGen® Enterprise PM. An AutoFlow sequence includes a defined series of windows that you must follow when you check-in patients prior to their appointments, and check-out patients after their appointments. Default AutoFlow sequences for all users in the practice are selected by location in yourAutoFlowpractice preferences. You can also select AutoFlow sequences by location in your user preferences. User-level settings override practice-level settings. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Admin menu, select Preferences > User > General. User preferences Autoflow tab Select the AutoFlow tab. Add Stored Procedure and Style Sheet

You can add the stored procedure and style sheet for a specialty associated with an encounter. Open File Maintenance. Under Master Files, select EHR, and then select Encounter Summary Appearance. The EHR Encounter Summary Appearance window opens. To add a stored procedure for a specialty, select Add. The Add window opens. Note: If you select the Display no data check box, the data from stored procedure and style sheet for a specialty do not appear in the encounter details of NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select a specialty from the available list. Select a stored procedure from the available list for the selected specialty. Select a style sheet from the available list for the selected specialty. Select Save. The stored procedure and style sheet are set for a specialty for the Encounter History tab. Run Autoflow from an Encounter

Before you begin Ensure that the Estimate Patient Cost item is included in the autoflow. You can run the autoflow for an encounter during check-in and/or check-out process for a person or patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM and do one of the following: Select Encounter on the toolbar. Select Tasks > Lookup > Encounters. The Encounter Lookup window opens. Use the search criteria and select Find. The encounters that match the search criteria display under Encounter List. From the Encounter List, right-click on an encounter and do one of the following: Select Checkin from the menu to start the check-in. Select Checkout from the menu to start the check-out. The first window configured in the autoflow opens. Select AutoFlow to open the next window in the sequence. Continue with the autoflow until the Estimate Patient Cost window opens. The Estimate Patient Cost window opens if it is configured in the sequence. The Estimate Patient Cost window displays the encounter details such as the enco

Set Up AutoFlow Practice Preferences

In File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Practices. Double click on a practice to open Modify Practice Information window. Select Preferences, and then select AutoFlow in Practice Preferences. To apply an autoflow Sequence for check-in or when a user creates an encounter, do one of the following in AutoFlow Sequences for menu option "Check-in/Create Encounter" section: For all locations, select a sequence in the <All Locations> row. For a specific location, select a sequence in the location's row. To apply an AutoFlow Sequence for check-out, repeat the previous step in AutoFlow Sequences for menu option "Checkout" section. If you want users to have the option to return to AutoFlow after completing all tasks, select Enable AutoFlow button after workable tasks have been completed. When the check box is selected, the Autoflow button is enabled so that users can return to Autoflow after tasks have been completed in the Work Tasks window. Add a Procedure to a Patient Chart

You can add a procedure to a patient chart from the Procedures module. You can also add procedure to a patient chart on charge submission of an order from the Orders module. The information entered in the Procedures module fields appears in the procedures list on the Procedures window. You can scroll across the procedure list area to view all the columns. The procedures you add also appear in the selected encounter for the patient and in the Superbill module. Open the Procedures module. Enter or select a procedure. To select the service date, do the following: Select the ellipsis button to display the calendar. Select a date. Select OK. Select Start/Stop Time. Note: When you select Start/Stop Time, the current time is selected by default. To change a time, you can select the hours, minutes, and AM/PM fields and then select the up or down arrow.
