Add or Modify Diagnosis Statuses

The Diagnosis Statuses master file enables you to set up the statuses for diagnosed conditions based on user-defined criteria. This master file provides a complete list of statuses of diagnosed conditions in the database. This is a user-defined table. From the Master Files - System list, select Diagnosis Status. The Diagnosis Statuses List window opens. Do one of the following: To add a new item, select open menu , and then select New. To modify an existing item, select the item in the list, select open menu , and then select Open. You can also double-click to open the item. The Add/Modify Diagnosis Status Information window opens. Enter a full description of diagnosis status in the Description field. Note: It is strongly recommended that you set up the first record for status with a description like None or something similar. SIG Code

The SIGs master file contains a complete list of all medication dosage instructions. This master file is usually populated during installation; data initially stored in the master file is dependent on the original NextGen database. You can enter additional SIG Codes. To add or modify a SIG code: Do one of the following: To add a new item, select Open Menu , and then select New. To modify an existing item, select the item in the list, select Open Menu , and then select Open. You can also double-click open the item. Note: You can enter an asterisk ( * ) to list all the records. The Add/Modify SIG Information window displays. Field Description Key Enter a standard abbreviation for the dosage instructions. If you are adding a new SIG Code, enter a unique key. Description Enter a full description. Note Enter additional information. If you want to hide the item in the list, select the Hide check box. The Diagnosis Severities master file enables you to set up levels that indicate the severity of a patient's diagnosed condition. Diagnosis Severity is based on user-defined criteria. This master file should contain a comprehensive list of severities. From the Master Files - System list, select Diagnosis Severity. The Diagnosis Severities List window opens. Do one of the following: To add a new item, select open menu , and then select New. To modify an existing item, select the item in the list, select open menu , and then select Open. You can also double-click to open the item. The Add/Modify Diagnosis Severity Information window opens. Enter a full description of the diagnosis severity in the Description field. Modifiers

The Modifiers master file provides a complete list of modifiers in the database. This table may be populated through your billing system. From the Master Files - System list, select Modifier. The Modifiers List window opens. From the Modifiers List window, do one of the following: To add a new item, select Open Menu , and then select New. To modify an item, select the item in the list, select Open Menu , and then select Open. To modify an item, enter an asterisk in the List Search field to display the existing modifiers. Then, double-click the modifier you want to change. The Add/Modify Modifier Information window opens. In the Modifier Key field, enter an industry standard abbreviation (two-character maximum) for the modifier. In the Modifier Description field, enter the full description for the modifier. In the Note field, enter any additional information. If you want to hide the item in the list, select the Hide check box. Select Next to add another item or select OK to return to th

Configure Allergy Reactions

The Allergy Reactions master file contains a list of SNOMED®-codified and user-defined allergic reactions. You can enter a specific reaction that a patient might have as the result of an allergy. From the Master Files - System list, select Allergy Reactions. The Allergy Reactions List window opens. Reactions marked as Common are listed at the top. SNOMED-codified reactions list in bold, their SNOMED code appears, and they cannot be modified. Note: When users are selecting reactions in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, they do no see an indication whether a reaction is SNOMED-codified. To add a reaction, scroll to the bottom of the list, and in the last blank row, enter a Description for the allergy reaction. To modify a reaction, edit the Description for the allergy reaction. You cannot modify the descriptions for SNOMED-codified reactions. If you expect to frequently use a reaction, select Common. The common reactions will be listed first when users want to select a reaction in NextGen® Enterp

Modifier Categories

The Modifier Categories master file provides a complete list of all modifier categories within the database. The Modifier Categories master file is user-defined. To add or modify a modifier category, do the following: From the Master Files - System list, select Modifier Category. The Modifier Categories List window opens. Do one of the following: To add a new item, select open menu , and then select New. To modify an existing item, select the item in the list, select open menu , and then select Open. You can also double-click to open the item. The Add/Modify Modifier Category Information window opens. Enter a name for the modifier category in the Category field. In the Short Description field, enter a description of up to four characters for the modifier category. To change the modifiers in the category, select Open Folder . The Modifiers window opens.
