Add External Systems to a Practice

Access the Practices master file to associate an external system with a practice. From the External tab, do one of the following: To add a new item, select the open menu button and then select New. To modify an existing item, select the item in the list, select the open menu button and then select Open. The Add External Interface window opens. Enter information in the following fields: External Practice ID – Enter the specific practice name associated with the external interface. External Enterprise ID – Enter the specific enterprise name associated with the external interface. External System – Select the system to interface with the application. Effective Date – Specify the date that your practice starts sending data to the external practice. Select the items you want to export to and from the external system. Modifying Practices

You can set up the following for a practice: Basic information (on the Practice Defaults tab). Associate an external system with the practice (on the External tab). Note: You must have at least one practice visible in the Practices List window. You cannot hide a practice if it is the only one. View the List of External Systems for a Practice

You can view a list of the external systems that are associated with the practices in your enterprise. Access the Practice master file. On the Practices List Access window, double-click a practice. The Modify Practice Information window appears. Select the External tab. The External tab displays the following columns: Field Description External System Displays the specific practice name associated with the external interface. External Enterprise Displays the specific enterprise name associated with the external interface. External Practice Displays the name of the system that interfaces with the application. Export Charge Displays Y for yes or N for no to indicate whether charges are exported to and from the external interface. Export New Patient Displays Y for yes or N for no to indicate whether new patients are exported to and from the external interface. Add External Systems for Employers

The External tab allows you to add external systems that interface with the NextGen® Enterprise application and to associate those systems with an employer. From the External tab, do one of the following: To add a new item, select open menu , and then select New. To modify an existing item, select the item in the list, select open menu , and then select Open. The Add External Interface window opens. In the External ID field, enter the ID that represents the resource in the external system. In the External System field, select the system to interface with the NextGen® Enterprise application. Do one of the following: To save changes and add another external system, select Next. To save changes and close the window, select OK. Set Up External Systems for an Event

The External tab on the Add Event or Edit Event window is used to add external systems that interface with NextGen® Enterprise PM, and to define a cross-reference for the event in NextGen® Enterprise PM to the event in the external system. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > Scheduling Admin. Note: When you select the Enable Enterprise Appointment Scheduling option in Practice Preferences window, the Scheduling Admin option on the Admin menu displays the following two options: Enterprise Practice The Scheduling Administration window opens. Select the Events tab. Right-click an event and select Open. The Edit Event window opens. Select the External tab. In the user details, the External tab enables you to add external systems that interface with NextGen® Enterprise applications and to associate those systems with the selected user. The External tab displays the following columns: Column Description External System Lists the external systems that were selected for the External System field when new external systems were added. These external systems interface with the NextGen application. External System ID Lists the IDs assigned to the external systems. External Record ID Lists the data entered for the External ID field when new external systems were added. Internal Record ID Lists the internal ID automatically assigned to the external ID.
