ANSI X12-compliant Country Codes

You can override the country description in the Countries master list with an ANSI X12-compliant code from the External tab of the master list. A new option in the External System field, ANSI_X12_Code_Table, was added for claims purposes to be used to translate a country code to an ANSI X12-compliant code. This function enables you to use the required format for a foreign country to send on claims for non-US patients. When a country code has an External ID entered with the ANSI_X12_Code_Table External System selected, then during billing that country code is translated into the code rather than the first three letters of the description from the master list. That code will then be the code that appears on the claim in the electronic 837 file's N4 segments. Note: When using the ANSI X12-compliant code, you must disable the Populate foreign country code in the subscriber loop check box, which was previously used to populate Canadian and Mexican countries. Disable Admitting Diagnosis on UB Claims

If you do not normally send Admitting Diagnosis information on electronic 837I claims, and you find that Admitting Diagnosis is populating your ANSI X12 5010 claims, then you may need to disable a legacy ANSI X12 4010 option in the Submitter Profile Library. Open File Maintenance. Select Libraries, and then Submitter Profiles. The Submitter Profiles List window opens. From the list, double-click to open the library used for 837I claims. The Submitter Profile window opens. In the ANSI X12 Version field, select Version 4010 (default). The following prompt appears: There are currently [n] pending electronic claims for this submitter profile flagged for processing as well as [n] electronic claims which are not flagged for processing. If you change this submitter profile's ANSI X12 version then the pending claims flagged for processing will be archived and the encounters associated with them flagged for re-bill. Would you like to save this change to the submitter profile? Select No. Select

Add or Modify External Systems for Master List Items

You can use the External tab to define a cross-reference for the master list item in NextGen® Enterprise to the ID for the item in the external system. Open File Maintenance, and select Master Lists. In Master List, select a master list table. The items within the master list appear. Double-click a master list item. The Modify [Master List] Information window opens. To add or modify external systems for master lists, from the External tab, do one of the following: To open the Add External Interface window and add an item, select open menu , and then select New. To open the Modify External Interface window and modify an item, select the item in the list, select open menu , and then select Open. Open File Maintenance, select Code Tables. Select a code table from the Code Table list, and then double-click a code. The Modify [Code Table] Information window opens. To add or modify external systems for code tables, from the External tab, do one of the following: To open the Add External Interface window and add an item, select open menu , and then select New. To open the Modify External Interface window and modify an item, select the item in the list, select open menu , and then select Open. In External ID, enter the ID that represents the resource in the external system. In External System, select the system to interface with NextGen Healthcare applications. Link a CPT4 Code to a Specific Test

Select File Maintenance > Master Files > Order Tests. The Order Tests List window opens. Double-click to select a specific test. The Modify Order Test Information window opens. Select the folder next to CPT4 Codes. The CPT4 Code Search window opens. Select the Description heading, and enter a description of the test in the Available field. Select the corresponding test and select the right arrow to link the CPT4 code to the test. To save this CPT4 code with this test, select OK . The CPT4 Code Search window closes. Attach CPT4 Codes to Field Locator 51

In File Maintenance, select Master Files - System and then Payers. Select the payer from the Payers List window. The Add/Modify Payer Information window opens. Select the Practice Parameters tab and then UB tab. Select the Open Menu button at the bottom of the window and select New. The Field Loc 51 for a CPT4 Range window opens. Enter the CPT4 code you want to attach to the provider in the CPT4 field. If you want to enter a range of CPT4 codes, your entry in this field serves as the beginning of the range. This field is required. Note: Select the Question Mark icon to perform a CPT4 Code search. You can search by code or by description. To enter a range of CPT4 codes, enter a second CPT4 code in the Thru CPT4 field. Enter the provider number in the Field Locator 51 field. This field is required. Select OK. Parent topic: UB Claims
