Assign CPT4 Codes

CPT®4 codes are assigned using File Maintenance. Once assigned, they are then linked to the test and are used when a NextGen® Medical Necessity Check is requested. From File Maintenance > Master Files > EHR, select CPT4 Codes. Select Description. Enter a text description of the test and the search starts automatically. Select a test, and select OK. If the test does not have an assigned CPT®4 Code, enter the CPT®4 code for the selected test, and a Description. Enter the Type of Service and the Reimbursement code. Select OK to save the new value. Copy Order Tests in File Maintenance

You can copy an existing test and add it to the list of tests for another test entity. To copy an order test, select Master Files > System > Order Tests. Select to focus the search on Order Test Key and enter the name of an existing test. Select to highlight the desired test. Right-click and select Copy. The Copy Master File window opens. Select the drop-down arrow on the Please Select a System field. Select to select a testing entity. Select in the Please enter the Lab Key field and enter a test order name. The new test, copied from the one selected in step 3 is now added to the Order Tests List. Parent topic: Orders Test Master File

Select Order Test Components

After creating all of the necessary and needed order components and order tests, you can add one or more components to a test order. From File Maintenance > Master Files > System selection list, select Order Tests. Enter the Order Test details: System, Key, Description, Code System, Order Type and NextGen Compendium Test Key. After the basic test information is added, continue on the Options tab to select test components. Select the Options tab. At the bottom of this window is the Components section. Select the Components folder . One at a time, select each test that is a part of this test group. Select the right arrow to add it to the Included list. When you have added all components, select OK. All test components now display in the Components pane of this window. Select OK to save this update and exit the Order Tests master file. Add or Modify a Test Order

Select File Maintenance > Master Files > System > Order Tests. Do one of the following: To add a new item, select open menu , and then select New. To modify an item, double-click the item to open it. Alternately, you can select the item in the list, select open menu , and then select Open. The Modify Order Test Information window displays the Test Details tab. Enter the order test details for each of the listed categories. For those categories that have a folder icon, select the folder and use the resulting window to select items from a list. Select the Specimen Handling tab. Enter the specimen handling information for each individual test order defined. Select the Options tab. Under Update Workflow Task Items, select the users to notify of the test results. These can include the ordering provider, the user who created the order, and an additional user. Attach CPT4 Codes to Field Locator 51

In File Maintenance, select Master Files - System and then Payers. Select the payer from the Payers List window. The Add/Modify Payer Information window opens. Select the Practice Parameters tab and then UB tab. Select the Open Menu button at the bottom of the window and select New. The Field Loc 51 for a CPT4 Range window opens. Enter the CPT4 code you want to attach to the provider in the CPT4 field. If you want to enter a range of CPT4 codes, your entry in this field serves as the beginning of the range. This field is required. Note: Select the Question Mark icon to perform a CPT4 Code search. You can search by code or by description. To enter a range of CPT4 codes, enter a second CPT4 code in the Thru CPT4 field. Enter the provider number in the Field Locator 51 field. This field is required. Select OK. Parent topic: UB Claims

Add or Modify a Radiology Order in the Master File

Each radiology test used in the Orders module must have a performing entity assigned to it. Before you can apply results to a radiology test, you have to map (assign) a performing entity for each test by using File Maintenance > Master File > System > Order Tests. Note: Currently there are no available radiology test lists from a specific performing entity to be loaded into the radiology list (in the same way you can use the Labcorp list for test orders), so you must define them one at a time using File Maintenance. Select File Maintenance > Master Files > System > Order Tests.The Order Tests List window opens. From the Order Tests List window, select open menu , and then select New. The Add/Modify Order Test Information window displays the Test Details tab. Enter the test order details.
