Balance Control	NextGen® Enterprise PM	Enables users to access to the Balance Control window to move a balance for an encounter from one party (insurance/guarantor) to another.
Batches	NextGen® Enterprise PM	Enables users to create and modify transaction batches for entering payments, adjustments, and refunds.
Enterprise Batch Groupings	NextGen® Enterprise PM	Enables users to create, modify, and delete batch groupings. Transaction Adjustments/ Refunds	NextGen® Enterprise PM	Enables users to add, modify, and delete adjustments and refunds within a transaction batch. Note: If you want users to be able to perform refund vendor matching, you must also set the Operations Transactions Vendor Matching security right to Yes.
Transaction Payments	NextGen® Enterprise PM	Enables users to add, modify, and delete payments within a transaction batch.

Managing Batches

In NextGen® Enterprise PM, batches are sets of payment, adjustment, and refund transactions. You can create batches for each location, each day, or for each practice. For example, a batch can be created for a check-in staff to record all the transactions for the day. You can secure a batch or an enterprise batch grouping to a single user for security purposes. Any user without the appropriate security rights cannot access the transactions in the batch. You can also choose to remove an entire enterprise batch grouping from the list if none of the sub-batches are secured to the current user. You can use the Batch Maintenance window to manage batches for a given practice. Batch Status You can use the batch status for payment batches to denote the flow of line item balance. Create an Enterprise Batch Grouping

You can create transaction batch grouping using Enterprise Batch Grouping feature in NextGen® Enterprise PM. streamline transaction entry and batch balancing by using enterprise batch grouping. Enterprise batch groups are comprised of transaction batches from multiple practices within an enterprise. They enable users to enter, balance, and post transactions from multiple practices. In the Batch Posting window, you can create a batch grouping by selecting which practices the application creates transaction batches for. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Posting . The Batch Posting window opens. Select open menu icon, select New, and then select Enterprise Batch Grouping. The Enterprise Batch Grouping Maintenance window opens. Enter the enterprise batch grouping description, and the date fields. In the Practice section, select the practices to include in the batch grouping. To subgroup the transactions into an appropriate category, select the value from Transaction

Posting Transactions

In NextGen® Enterprise PM, a payment is considered posted only if has gone through the posting process. You can add or modify payments for an encounter only until it is posted. The posting process is a way of telling the application that everything has been done correctly and is ready to be committed to the system. Payment posting could be manual in paper format as Explanation of Benefits (EOB) or electronically as Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA). In NextGen® Enterprise PM, there are two sources for transactions, patients or payers. Payments may come from primary, secondary or tertiary payers. Transaction Posting Process You can create a batch to enter relevant information for payments and posting the payments. Viewing Transaction Dates You can view different dates associated with all transactions in the Batch Maintenance window.
