Setting Batch Security

You can secure a batches to a specific users in practices where the payments till is being shared or there are multiple users adding transactions to a given batch. NextGen® Enterprise PM allows practices to secure a batch to a single user to prevent any incorrect transactions from being added to the batch. You can secure a batch in the Batch Maintenance window using any of the following: Set batch security to a single batch or multiple batches at the batch header level. Set batch security to a single batch in a batch group without multiple batches. Set the batch security to define if the batch can be changed in any way. Create Enterprise Batch Groupings

Before you begin You must select the Enable Enterprise Batch Grouping checkbox in the Transactions tab of the Practice Preferences window. You can create, streamline transaction entry, and batch balancing through transaction batch grouping using Enable Enterprise Batch Grouping in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Enterprise batch groups comprise transaction batches from multiple practices within an enterprise. You can enter balance and post transactions from multiple practices. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Posting . The Batch Posting window opens. Select open menu , select New, and then select Enterprise Batch Grouping. The Enterprise Batch Grouping Maintenance window opens. Enter the enterprise batch grouping description and date. In the Practice section, select the practices to include in the batch grouping. To group the transactions into an appropriate category, select the value from Transaction Category, and then select OK. The new enterprise batch appears in the

Managing Batches

In NextGen® Enterprise PM, batches are sets of payment, adjustment, and refund transactions. You can create batches for each location, each day, or for each practice. For example, a batch can be created for a check-in staff to record all the transactions for the day. You can secure a batch or an enterprise batch grouping to a single user for security purposes. Any user without the appropriate security rights cannot access the transactions in the batch. You can also choose to remove an entire enterprise batch grouping from the list if none of the sub-batches are secured to the current user. You can use the Batch Maintenance window to manage batches for a given practice. Batch Status You can use the batch status for payment batches to denote the flow of line item balance. Determining the Active Batch You can only post transactions to a batch marked as active on the Batch Posting window. Set Up a Batch Header Record

You can create a batch header record to enter payments, refunds, and adjustments for transactions. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Posting . The Batch Posting window opens. Select open menu , select New, and then select one of the following options: Batch to create a batch for anyone in the system, and define the default Process Date or Adjudication Date. Enterprise Batch to enter, balance, and post transactions from multiple practices within the same enterprise. Quick Batch to create a batch secured to you, using the default system dates and an active status. The Batch Maintenance window opens. Batch Maintenance Window Enter the required information for the batch. Select OK. The created batch displays under the Existing Batches list on the Posting window.
