Delete VSP Authorization	NextGen® Optical Management	Enables users to delete VSP authorization for the VSP Authorization window.
Order Approval	NextGen® Optical Management	Enables users to approve orders being forwarded to VisionWeb.
Reconciliation Load to DB or Write-Off All	NextGen® Optical Management	Enables users to load inventory to the database and write off inventory for all of the items in the reconciliation process. You may want to limit this right to a manager.
Update BAC	NextGen® Optical Management	Enables users to update the Buyers Actual Cost (BAC) of an item of the inventory. This item is enabled as a default setting.

Faxing Operation

The Faxing Operations subgroup in the System Administrator application enables users to perform various activities through faxing. Subgroup Used in Description Accessory Orders NextGen® Enterprise PM Enables users to fax accessory orders from NextGen® Optical Management. Contact Orders NextGen® Enterprise PM Enables users to fax contact orders from NextGen® Optical Management Documents NextGen® Enterprise PM Enables users to fax patient documents from within NextGen® Enterprise to a selected destination. Edit Area Code Rules NextGen® Enterprise PM Enables users to modify the area code rules in the Send Fax window in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Eyeglass Orders NextGen® Enterprise PM Enables users to fax eyeglass orders from NextGen® Optical Management. Images NextGen® Enterprise PM Enables users to fax the currently selected image from the Imaging module in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Optical Management Module

The Optical Management module subgroup in the System Administrator application is used only if you are licensed for the NextGen® Optical Management application. This subgroup enables users to access the Integrated Equipment module, and add and delete the reports for NextGen® Optical Management devices. Add or Modify a Lens Option

You can create a list of coatings that can be added to a lens to specify the SIM code associated with the coating. On the Options tab, do one of the following: To add a new item, select open menu and select New. To modify an item, double-click the item to open. The Lens Options window opens. In Description, enter a description for the coating. In Service Item, select the question mark symbol to search for and select a SIM code or group or a description associated with the lens style, and select OK. Note: If more than one SIM code is required for an option, assign a SIM group code to the option. To include only one SIM for the eyeglass order, select One-line Charge. To indicate whether this option is taxable, select Taxable. For contact lens and eyeglass VSP orders, select one of the following check boxes based on SIM code mapping: For use on VSP orders only, if the SIM code is mapped to VSP. Map SIM and NextGen® Optical Management CPT4 Codes

You can associate SIMs with their corresponding NextGen® Optical Management procedures. By default, each procedure is assigned the appropriate SIM name based on the name of the CPT4 code that already exists in your database. From the Lens Maintenance master file, select the SIM Mapping tab. Note: Default SIM code for Medical Device Tax is S9999. You can create a code and assign it to the medical device tax. You can create oversize lens charges for four different lens types: Single Vision, Bifocal Vision, Trifocal Vision, and Progressive Vision. To change the SIM assigned to a procedure, select the ellipsis button corresponding to the Description row. The SIM Code Search window opens. Configure Optical Vendors

The Vendors master file enables you to create a list of manufacturers used in NextGen® Optical Management. CAUTION: You must set up the Vendors master file before creating a brand in the Brand master file. Open File Maintenance and select Master Files > Optical Management and select Vendors. The Vendors List window opens. To include the hidden items in the master file list, select the Include Hidden Items check box . From the vendors list, do one of the following: To add a new vendor, select the open menu button and select New. To modify an existing vendor, double-click the item to open it. The Optical Vendor window opens. On the Vendor Detail tab, enter the vendor information in the respective fields. Note: To hide the vendor in the vendors list, select the Hide check box.
