Modify Location Restrictions

Select the user, and then select the Loc. Restrict tab. The Non-Preferred Locations section lists the locations in the current practice that are not designated as "preferred" for the user. If no preferred locations are selected on the Locations tab, all locations will be listed here. The Non-Preferred Location Rights section displays the current non-preferred location level security settings for the highlighted item. These rights are affected by the practice-level rights combined with the selections in the Rights Override section. You can remove the right at the practice level, which automatically removes the right from the location level. Or, you can remove the right at only the location level. Removed rights display with the symbol. In the Non-Preferred Location Restrictions list, select the security right that you want to further refine for the selected user's non-preferred locations. Modify Preferred Locations and Limit Access

Select the user, and then select the Locations tab. In the Preferred Locations list, select the locations to designate as "preferred" for the user. When you select a location, it automatically moves up in the list to immediately below the last selected location. Locations that are not selected are considered as “non-preferred” for the user. To change the order of the locations, select a location, and then select one of the Move buttons. The list order defined here is the default for how they display for the user in drop-down fields, for example, in lookups. Users can override this order in the NextGen® Enterprise PM. Note: If no limits for the preferred locations are set, locations inNextGen® Enterprise PMthat are not designated as preferred will display in drop down lists in alphabetical order after preferred locations. If a practice contains a large number of service locations, you can apply an additional method of security that restricts user activity within specific service locations. Defining access for each user by their “preferred locations” provides greater control over which functions the users can perform and lowers the incidence of data entry errors. For example, preferred location limits can prevent someone in the downtown office from performing billing functions for the east side office. The preferred location settings include the following: Limit which locations a user can access when searching for information within NextGen® Enterprise PM Limit reports to only display data from the user’s preferred locations. Limit users to generate letters associated only with preferred locations. Limit creation of new medical record information according to the user’s preferred location settings. Payment Entry Operation

The Payment Entry Operations subgroup in the System Administrator application enables users to enter payments in various modes. For example, you might want to allow users to enter payments when the source is Encounter or Invoice but prevent payments when the source is Account or Budget. Subgroup Used in Description Allow Account Mode NextGen® Enterprise PM Enables users to select Account in the Source/Acct field in Payment Entry. If you set the right to No, Account is removed as an option. Note: Restricting this right prevents users from entering a payment that could bypass transaction approval. Refund Vendor Matching Security Right Setup

Security rights in System Administrator control user access to refund vendor matching and refund transactions in NextGen® Enterprise PM. By default, user groups do not have access to vendor matching. In System Administrator, select a user group. Note: You may create a user group specifically for vendor matching purposes. On the Rights tab, expand OPERATIONSTransactions. Select Vendor Matching and set the Access Rights to Yes. Within a pending refund transaction in the Payment Entry window in NextGen® Enterprise PM, users will have access to the Vendor Matching Lookup button, Refund Name/Address section, and the View Chart button. To grant additional security rights to the user group, do the following: To allow user groups to enter new refunds or modify fields, other than those in the Refund Name/Address section, select Rights > MODULES > Transactions > Transaction Adjustments/Refunds and select the Add and Update Access Rights.
