Modify Location Restrictions

  1. Select the user, and then select the Loc. Restrict tab.
The Non-Preferred Locations section lists the locations in the current practice that are not designated as "preferred" for the user. If no preferred locations are selected on the Locations tab, all locations will be listed here.
The Non-Preferred Location Rights section displays the current non-preferred location level security settings for the highlighted item. These rights are affected by the practice-level rights combined with the selections in the Rights Override section. You can remove the right at the practice level, which automatically removes the right from the location level. Or, you can remove the right at only the location level. Removed rights display with the symbol.

  2. In the Non-Preferred Location Restrictions list, select the security right that you want to further refine for the selected user's non-preferred locations.
  3. In the Non-Preferred Location Rights Override section, remove the user’s practice-level security permissions for the highlighted security right at all non-preferred locations by doing one of the following:
    • If you selected a module-level security right, select to clear the Add, Update, and Delete check boxes as necessary to remove the appropriate permissions. You cannot set Print or Delete permissions at the location level. For the Charge Entry security right, Add and Update must be selected together or not selected at all. If you change one, the other automatically changes. The result is that users either have complete access to adding and modifying charges at non-preferred locations or they do not.
    • If you selected an operations-level security right, select No to remove the permission.
    • If you selected an operations-level security right, select No to remove the permission.
The symbol displays next to the items in the Non-Preferred Location Rights section to indicate the user, by default, does not have the right at non-preferred locations.

Export Selected Permission and Export All Permissions buttons– Buttons allow either all defined location level security permissions, or only the selected security items, to be exported to all users in a security group. Only security settings are exported, and not the Preferred/Non-Preferred location settings.
