Configuring Personal Health Records at the Practice Level

When you install NextGen Patient Portal CCD Service on your server, configuration files with the default settings are created for generating PHR at the enterprise level. To create different settings for the PHR generated at the practice level, you can copy the default configuration files to a practice-specific folder and edit them. On restarting NextGen Patient Portal CCD Service, default agents are created based on the set poolsize for each type of PHR generation but only one practice-specific agent is created for each type of PHR generation. To configure parallel processing for practice-specific agents, you must set the practiceSpecificAgents XML key to true in the NextGen.Pxp.CcdaService.exe.config file. Lab Results in Personal Health Records

Lab results are automatically sent as part of personal health records (PHR) after they are reviewed and signed off by the provider. PHRs are sent to a patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account in the following scenarios: When a patient requests PHRs from the portal When a patient manually requests PHRs from NextGen® PxP Portal, they receive either a full PHR or an encounter-based PHR depending on the date range they select. The PHR document contains data from all encounters whether the encounters are locked or unlocked. Manually-requested PHRs display all signed-off lab results. Configuring CCD Service and Agent Options

The following parameters are used to process a Continuity of Care Documents (CCD) or Personal Health Records (PHR) request. pool size: The number of CCD agents created during one pool to process the CCDs or PHRs. polling intervals: The time taken in seconds to check for new requests or retry failed requests. batchSize: The number of records fetched from the database for a single CCD request. maxAllowedProcessAttempt: The maximum number of attempts to reprocess the failed requests. Set Up Practice-Level Configuration for Personal Health Records

You can set up a different configuration for Continuity of Care Documents (CCD) or Personal Health Records (PHR) generated at the practice level for each practice. The default configuration files for generating CCD or PHR at the enterprise level are created in the following file location on your server.C:\NextGen\Services\AWSVPQADB02.consolidated_testing.NextGenPatientPortalCCDService\Configs\DefaultNote: The folder name in the Services folder is a combination of the system name and database name. For example, if your system name is AWSVPQADB02 and the database name is consolidated_testing, the folder name is AWSVPQADB02.consolidated_testing.NextGenPatientPortalCCDService. Edit Agent Options

You can edit the agent options in the configuration files to modify the default settings for generating Personal Health Records (PHR). Open NextGen Service Manager Console. In the Components pane, expand NextGen.Pxp.CcdaService, and select the database. Select Stop to stop NextGen Patient Portal CCD Service. Locate the configuration file. You can find the default configuration files in the C:\NextGen\Services\AWSVPQADB02.consolidated_testing.NextGenPatientPortalCCDService\Configs\Default location.
