Use a QuickPick to Fill in Exam Templates

If you have an appropriate provider or System Set QuickPick to use, you can load it into an exam template to save time. For information on saving QuickPicks, see QuickPicks. Open the desired exam template. Do one of the following: For the rendering provider’s QuickPicks, select Star. For QuickPicks from other providers and System sets, select Double-Star. Select the QuickPick that you want to use, and then select OK. The QuickPick entries fill the template. Make changes to the entries on the template as necessary for the current patient. Use Get Data

Get Data copies template entries from a previous encounter with the patient into the current encounter template. Data entry becomes more efficient because you can update entries as needed instead of entering data in every field. You can use Get Data to enter information for exams and in other templates where the button is available. Select the Get Data button. The Encounter picklist opens. Select the encounter you want to copy data from, and then select OK. The fields fill in according to the selections saved from the previous encounter. Documenting Exams

The Exams section on the Single Visit template has a grid that shows all exams recorded for the patient, and a list of exams that you can use to document exams performed in the current encounter. You can fill out as many different exams as needed for the patient on a single encounter. All data entered on any exam is displayed in the grid. Get Data

The Get Data button speeds up documentation by loading information into templates based on how it was entered for a previous encounter with the patient. You can use it to enter information on Exams, HPI, and MDM, and in other places in the application where it is enabled. When not enabled, the Get Data button is gray. Modify Templates

You can modify the data saved to a template if it is not attached to a locked encounter. If the encounter is locked, you can create a new custom encounter, and attach the same template to it to update the information. On the Encounter History tab, select the encounter that contains the template you want to update and select the button. Select the template to open it. Enter the required modifications. Note: If you are working with a Group Medical Records template, any modifications you enter and save are committed to all of the charts for patients who are members of the specific patient group. Exams

To open an exam, click on its name in the left side navigation pane. Each exam (body area) has its own template. Exams that are most pertinent to the current workflow are shown at the top of the list. You can scroll down to see additional links. Data entered on exam templates is shown in the large grid below the Vitals information on the Physical Exam panel. Each exam template has side navigation to open related templates. For example, shown directly below is the template page that opens when you click the Fracture link. Note that links to other fracture templates are at the top of the left navigation bar.
