Managing Diagnosis Groups and Codes

You can manage diagnosis groups for documenting patient's assessment and manage diagnosis codes in a specific diagnosis group. You can use the Manage Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel of the Specialty Diagnosis Group Config template to create diagnosis groups and assign diagnosis codes to the diagnosis groups. The diagnosis groups are used for documenting the details of the patient's assessment on medical record templates. However, there are some pre-configured diagnosis groups available for you in the Manage Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel. Manage Diagnosis Groups and Codes The Manage Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel has the following sections. Add Diagnosis Group. You can view all existing diagnosis groups, add and update a diagnosis group, copy an existing diagnosis group to create one, and deactivate an existing diagnosis group. Assign Diagnosis Codes to Group. You can add, remove, and rearrange diagnosis codes for an existing diagnosis group selected from the grid of the Add Diagn

Manage ICD-9 and ICD-10 Defaults for Payers

You can change effective and expiration dates for payers that use ninth or tenth revision codes of International Classification of Diseases (ICD-9 or ICD-10). By changing effective and expiration dates for ICD-9 or ICD-10 codes at the payer level, you can configure financial classes that contain many payers switching to ICD-10 codes and a few payers still need you to submit ICD-9 codes. On the Specialty Diagnosis Group Config template, expand the Manage Financial Class/Payer Listing panel. Select the financial class to be updated from the financial class grid. The effective and expiration dates of the selected financial class are filled in their respective fields. Select the payer's name from the field for payer name. The effective and expiration dates of the selected payer are filled in their respective fields. Change the effective and expiration dates as needed. Select Add/Update. Configuring Diagnosis Groups, Financial Classes, and Payers

You can manage financial classes and payers that accept ninth revision codes of International Classification of Diseases (ICD-9) and configure diagnosis groups and codes. You can use the Specialty Diagnosis Group Config template to configure diagnosis groups and diagnosis codes for documenting patient's assessment and manage financial classes and payers that accept ICD-9 codes. Specialty Diagnosis Group Config The Specialty Diagnosis Group Config template has the following panels: Manage Diagnosis Groups and Codes. You can add, update, copy, and deactivate diagnosis groups for documenting patient's assessment on the medical record templates. You can also manage diagnosis codes in the specific diagnosis groups. Manage Financial Class/Payer Listing. You can configure financial classes and payers that accept ICD-9 codes. If you configure a payer to accept ICD-9 codes, you can add ICD-9 codes on the medical record templates as a part of the patient's diagnosis details and submit the charge

Make Payers Inactive

You can make existing payers in a financial class inactive. On the Specialty Diagnosis Group Config template, expand the Manage Financial Class/Payer Listing panel. Select the financial class to be updated from the financial class grid. The effective and expiration dates of the selected financial class are filled in their respective fields. From the field for the payer name, select the name of the payer to be made inactive. The effective and expiration dates of the selected payer are filled in their respective fields. Select Inactivate. Use this panel to specify any financial classes/payers that did not switch to ICD-10 on October 1, 2015. By default, all payers show in the grid as switching to ICD-10 (ICD-X) on 10/1/2015.
