The Ancillary Services visit type selected on Homepage opens the Ancillary Services template. This visit type does not increase the patient’s SOC on Homepage. Ancillary Services visit type selected on NTS Homepage With the Ancillary Services template, you can see patients for concussion testing and H-wave testing and document findings for baseline readings prior to injury or post injury. It also includes a Concussion Document. You must select Start Time before you can document any information. Select the Patient seen for text field to open a picklist of ancillary services. Record the Medicare ABN Information

Use the Medicare ABN template to enter basic information on the Medicare ABN form. Medicare ABN template Click the Forms link, and double-click Medicare ABN from the list. Click the Service Types field to select the service and items, which may not be covered by Medicare. Enter the Identification Number for the patient. Click the Items or Services field to type in items or services. If the patient received an injection, click the Injections field to select it. Click the Reason Medicare May Not Pay field to select a reason. Click the Estimated Cost field and type in the estimated cost of the items and services. Select the check box for Option 1, Option 2, or Option 3 based on the patient’s response. You can also leave this blank for the patient to select it once printed. Select the Done check box. You must set up the NextGen® Medical Necessity Check to determine if Medicare will pay for a test when selecting a diagnosis for an order and run it when you place a test order. If Medicare or other insurance does not cover the costs of the test, you can print an Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) and record the patients' decision about how to handle test codes. If an order does not contain Medicare or other insurance then you can't run NextGen® Medical Necessity Check as this follows the Medicare guidelines. Note: You need to obtain a license to run NextGen® Medical Necessity Check. To set up the NextGen® Medical Necessity Check locations, do the following: Access and download the NextGen® Medical Necessity Check update package from the NextGen Healthcare Success Community.
