Document a DME Only Visit

Create an encounter in NextGen® Enterprise EHR that is attached to the case. Open Homepage, and then select the DME Only visit type. DME Only visit type selected Select the DME Only tab. If a patient comes into the clinic only to purchase durable medical equipment, you can document and charge for those supplies on a non-billable DME Only visit. Select a Visit Type for the Patient Encounter

The visit type you select determines the workflow for the patient encounter. Note: In the Billing Configuration system template, your administrator configures which visit types you can choose from. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Configuration Guide for NextGen® Therapy Suite. Open a patient record, and then in Encounter History, expand a case and select an encounter. Open the NTS Homepage template associated with the encounter. Use the Document Panel to Complete a Visit

Before you begin Ensure that you have selected the Specialty as Care Management and Visit Type as Case & Consent. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Documentation template, expand the Document panel. Document Add or update the diagnosis code as needed. Choose the appropriate type of visit for the encounter. Select the Add button. Visit Type

Select a visit type: NP (New Patient), Consult, or Est (Established). This is a required field. On the Billable Visit template, the Visit Type field is a required field. If the patient is not a new patient, the system suggests a Visit Type based on the last billed office visit date. Note: If the practice has configured the application to allow users to override the Visit Type, users can select a Visit Type other than the suggested ones. If this feature is disabled, you are limited to one of the suggested visit types. Document a Child and Family Team Meeting Note

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then in Patient History, select Open Templates. The Select Template window opens. On the Medical Records tab, select All. Select CFT Meeting Note (BH), and then select OK. In the Time Entry Navigation sidebar, select Billing Time Entry, and then enter the start time. Note: You can select the current time or enter the time manually. Select the program, specialty, and visit type. Note: Only programs that the patient is actively enrolled in appear in the list. You can select <No Program> to create an encounter without a program, and then add the program later. To indicate that the patient did not attend the meeting, select No Show. Enter the meeting details such as location, attendees, and discussions. In the Next Meeting Date field, select the date from the calendar. Document the patient's assessment and diagnosis details.
