Changing the Ownership of Minor Patient's Portal Account

When a patient reaches the age of majority, the guardian account is deactivated, and the patient's email address automatically changes to aged-out@nextgen.com in Practice Portal. The guardian also receives an email about the change in ownership of the minor patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account. Note: If the updated email is accepted in ReviewQ in the PxP Portal Integration Tool, the patient's email address changes to aged-out@nextgen.com in the patient's demographics in NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Enterprise PM. Inviting Aged Out Patients to NextGen PxP Portal

Minor patient accounts are managed by their guardians. The email address associated with a minor's account is always the guardian's email address. When a minor patient ages out, the guardian's account is revoked and the status of the patient is updated to Not Enrolled in NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Enterprise PM. When you hover over the status of an aged out patient, the status appears as Aged Out. Aged out patients are automatically invited to NextGen® PxP Portal when you update the email address of the patient in the Modify Patient Information window. You must ensure that the Auto Invites for Patients option is enabled on the Practice Configuration tab in NextGen® PxP Portal Integration Tool. Find and Change Ownership of No Longer Dependent Accounts

Log on to the NextGen® PxP Portal. On the Family Management tab, select Age-out Report. For Status, select the Dependents option. In Decision making capacity, select the necessary option to view patients of respective decision-making capacity. Note: You cannot change the account ownership for patients who lack decision-making abilities. In DOB before, select the date of birth, and then select Search. Managing Accounts for Guardians and Trusted Representatives in Practice Portal

Practice can invite guardians and trusted representatives for patients using the Family Management section in Practice Portal. Practices can also edit the access rights of a trusted representative on behalf of a patient. Practices can manage the following types of patients using the Patient Dashboard in Practice Portal: Inactive Underage Patient This type of patient is not old enough to age out, and the patient's parent or guardian has not completed the enrollment using the invitation email. The Patient's age is under the age-out age configured for this practice icon indicates that the patient is not old enough to age out. Active Underage Patient This type of patient is not old enough to age-out, and the patient's parent or guardian has accepted the invitation and activated the account.
